This brewery has incredible beers and also one of the best smash burgers in all of town. And the distillery has great cocktails, a hidden gem.

Gorgeous atmosphere with cosy seating, a variety of good whiskies, a wood cabin vibe, and a cool outdoor space. The whiskey flight is waived if you buy a bottle and their 20% off Rye January deal is great.

I finally got a chance to visit Rod and Hammer. Let me tell you, this place is the jewel of san luis Obispo. Everyone was so very nice. We had an awesome server.
We did a whiskey flight for me and my husband, ate from the happy hour menu. They are VERY dog friendly, so it’s ok to bring your pet. I ordered my dog a pup burger from the menu. They also have pup bowls for bigger dogs (beef or chicken). The place itself is beautiful. Lots of space here. They have a large variety of whiskey and cocktails to choose from. I bought a bottle of the wild berry, and since I bought 2 flights, they took that price off my bottle… Yeah! Great visit.

Great atmosphere for whiskey lovers and craft beer enthusiast I have to explain… this distillery produces they own Rod & Hammer brand. Cozy outdoor seating areas and a quaint indoor bar style seating area.
I dont give five stars to anyone because there’s always room for improvement. My reviews are my honest opinion. I always encourage that you find out for yourself. Never take someone’s word as truth!

A great place for our family with little kids. We sat outside where they could wander and kiddos loved the cheese pizza. I had the ceasar salad with grilled chicken- sooo good but a bit overdressed. My husband really enjoyed the Southwest salad, also great! Easy to order and lots of seating available for a Saturday night. Prices were also super reasonable! Would eat here again!

Went in asking if the kitchen would be willing to make a pizza with garlic oil instead of white cream for a white pizza, the female bartender first said she didn’t know if they had oil, then said it was reserved for specific dishes, then said they didn’t have it again.

She was increasingly put out the more I tried to use logic and reason with her, so I left and went to Nucci’s down the street. Less hassle and better food, I’m sure.

No wonder nobody was in the restaurant at the rock. The guy bartender was fine, too bad he disappeared before I was ready to order.

I love visiting San Luis Obispo and had friends recommend SLO brewing. I now have a new favorite place to go!! The setting is perfect with a large rock that hems in the restaurant giving it a very unique feel. We went with a couple other families with kids and it was perfect for them with board games, Twister, Cornhole etc and I felt like the kids could have fun without annoying other people.

Their beers are great. I did a flight and liked 3/4, then ordered more and loved the variety. Most were all something I would drink often. They’re food was also fantastic, with pretty large portions. The staff was all very helpful and nice, there are plenty of TVs for games, and I loved every aspect of it (besides the line for food, but once the order is done, everything else is smooth).

I highly recommend, and I’ll be back!

Omg love the atmosphere in this place!!! Just driving into the parking lot i can tell it was gonna be a cool place. I wish it wasn’t raining when we went but the inside was cool too. The employees were super friendly. Good selection of beer and food. Found out they have happy hour Monday thru Friday 3-6pm: pizza and drinks! Love how they are super dog friendly!! Got our pup the Barkuterie board which he loved!!! Can’t wait to go back!!

Menu offers a variety of burgers, sandwiches, and salads each of which are caringly crafted using quality local ingredients. The turkey sandwich tasted very fresh. You can’t beat their selection of beers and cocktails. At one pm on a Tuesday the place was completely empty offering my mother and I a very relaxing atmosphere. Beware. These culinary offerings come at a price. Turkey sandwich was $20 and could have easily been split. I do feel you get what you pay for here. We will be back.
