Rocky’s had a Friday night buffet of Polish food, and the selection and quality of the food was first rate! We just happened to see the flier on Facebook so we decided to check it out. It was our first time here. I finished my meal with a retro banana pudding with Nila wafers and cream. Delicious nostalgia! The buffet had several kid-friendly options, so at $14 a person, this would be a great place to bring the family on Friday night. Next Friday’s theme is Italian night, and I can’t wait to try Mary Anne’s dishes. She is amazing!

This place is great!

The owner is really nice. The building is huge and well maintained. There’s pool tables and games and TVs and a huge bar. This is totally the place to go.

I ordered a dozen and a half whole jumbo wings for pickup. $18. ($12.99 for a dozen.) He threw in extra wings cause he was worried a couple of them were small.

I was blown away with how good the wings were and even more impressed by the price point. I rate these as top tier, entree-grade wings.

As we all know, there are so many varieties of wings and personal wing preferences. So, let’s get into it.

The wings are baked and then fried, creating a really interesting and unique taste. They are totally naked, there isn’t any breading – not even a light dusting. This means they aren’t as crunchy as other wings, but some of us actually prefer naked whole wings. Even without any breading, they have a great outer texture and we’re cooked perfectly.

The Hot Garlic wings were my favorite. The sauce complements the naked-baked-then-fried cooking style to create a fantastic taste. This will be my go to when I return (and at these prices, I’ll be back often).

The Seasoned wings were very good, but different than I’ve ever had. Instead of a dry rub, it was almost like they had a light butter coating to them and then seasoning was applied. It could also be that since they are totally naked, the fat in the skin melts and stays wet. Or it could be oil left over from the fryer, but I kind of doubt that. Either way, they were not dry.

The Seasoned wings are going to come down to personal preference. But, the Hot Garlic are as good as or better than any I’ve had anywhere!!

Try them!!

We went on wing night. Ordered 6 and took 3 home. They were huge full size wings, not the little ones. Well worth the $.75 each.

The wings were okay but the sauces were not good, definitely not homemade. The pizza was not the best, very under cooked. Can’t say we will be ordering from again.

I ordered 2 fish sandwiches for My Wife & I at ROCKY’S off Burchfield Rd on Rte 8. We had never tried ROCKY’S before & now it will be a regular stop. The fish was tender, flaky & downright delicious. The fries were a nice size & were also very tasty. The Gentleman behind the bar was very friendly & cordial & was telling Me about Their upcoming food events. They all sound appetizing. ROCKY’S is a Great looking eatery & They have games on the inside that look like fun. They have Big-Screen TV’s in the bar to watch any & all games. It’s a nice looking establishment & the Sports pictures & other Pittsburgh Sports memorabilia is a Reminder of a Great Pittsburgh Past. ROCKY’S is a Great place & a Great experience to eat & drink.

The epitome of a pittsburgh bar and restaurant. Very casual, I think it was the owner or manager who served us. The menu is largely comfort food. Unfortunately my chicken Romano had a funky taste to it, but was remedied quickly with delicious meatloaf. My husband’s ravioli only had one meatball but great sauce. Close and comfortable.

Got wings there for my first time tonight, couldn’t have been and fresher and hotter, so delicious and a dozen was only $13, plus tip but I guess that’s optional. Highly recommend and I am a chef!!!!

Atmosphere is friendly, food is really good and service from Rocky is terrific! He always remembers us no matter how long it’s been between visits and is always friendly and ready to serve! The tortilla wraps, steaks and salads are all very good and my husband liked the fish as well. Get to Rocky’s on route 8!

Decent bar area but draft beers aren’t as cold as they should be. We didn’t eat here, but the place seems to be?? consistently dead (not busy) everytime we pass it. I believe the owner tends his own bar and maybe his wife?? waits the tables? It’s located just off the beaten path, but is definitely more a place for neighborhood locals than for travelers, IMHO. Looks kinda tempting from the road if you’re hungry or thirsty, but if you’re any kind of picky about places, drinks, or food; I recommend not stopping here. It’s just an average place. No big deal.

It wasn’t crowded when we visited. Our waitress was very sweet and talked with us for a while. The menu is standard and everything was well priced. We sat in the bar area that had a huge projector screen and some other TVs. The food was good and the portions were pretty big.
