This place feels so nostalgic, very warm and welcoming. Rocky and his wife are some of the friendliest people I have ever met. Amazing food and great prices. Love their pancakes and home fries!

I visited this place last 3 years ago. I should have posted a review then, but today my Facebook memories reminded me of this visit. At the time, I was pregnant with my 3 year old and my husband and I had decided to stop for breakfast before we visited the maternity unit at West Penn. I will never forget this breakfast. It tasted like real home cooked. Like something I remember from when I was growing up. A taste and a place that is true Pittsburgh. Will definitely return soon ♥️

I was walking the neighborhood when I saw this little place advertising Ham, Eggs and homefriws for $4.99 so I thought why not and went in. This is a quaint spot with no frills and a very simple menu. I went with the Meat Lovers Omelette and Home Fries with peppers and onions. The omelette was incredible. It had large pieces of ham (not tiny little cubes like so many places do) and crispy bacon. The home fries were also delicious (and there’s Heinz ketchup on the table if you need it). Cheap prices, fast AND friendly service! 5 stars from me! And as you can see from my picture, I pretty much cleaned my plate.

Had a morning appointment on Liberty Ave. & Stopped in for breakfast after. Saw the special for 2 eggs, sausage, hash browns & toast for under $7 & had to stop in. Quite the neighborhood, yinzer, diner feel. Lil small but accommodating seating. Cozy. The wait staff was quick, efficient & personable. Rocky was cooking away & catching up with some Steeler news with the locals. Stools are a lil shorter than your usual ones which is accommodating for shorter folks. I sat at the bar & deliciously watched my food sizzle, simmer, & cook to perfection. Couple of cuppas of coffee & a hearty breakfast had me ready for the day. Everything you needed was at your bars & tables (hand sanitizer, salt, pepper, Heinz ketchup, hot sauce, sugar creamer, grape jelly). The folks were fine with chatting up about anything local & interesting, others were having a quiet breakfast scrolling through their phone feed. The menu was short and to the point. A few specials on the front, a la carte as well. Everything was reasonably and affordably priced. Tables were neat and tidy. There was also a small collection of movies & music for sale too. Couple of classics in VHS, DVD, CDs & Casset tapes.

The food was excellent along with the service, it’s small place but we were able to get a table without too much fuss.

The atmosphere for my young family was great and the stuff was fantastic.

I almost didn’t come here because of the one star reviews but it seems they were left by people with an axe to grind as the owner seems to have a political view opposite of what the young hipsters who live in this area align with.

It’s a great place to stop for breakfast if your in the area with your family.

I stopped in with a friend and without either of us saying anything the owner went on a weird unbroken political rant for about three straight minutes. It was really strange and uncomfortable so we left without ordering anything. They also only take cash and the ATM was out of service. If you want to go someplace in Bloomfield with a diner type atmosphere, Ritter’s is down the road, and I’ve never had any problems there.

Rocky’s was a very cool little corner diner in Bloomfield. No idea how long it has been there, but judging by the stools quite a while. The local regulars that were there definitely made it a better place. Service was good with good basic food.

If you’re a resident of Bloomfield, you have to pay homage and eat at Rocky’s! Is there avocado toast? No. Is there an extremely large selection of flavoured coffee? No. Is there a real feeling of an old neighborhood welcoming it’s younger, newer residents? Yes! Can you eat a solid breakfast, get a decent coffee, and tip your server for $10? Yes.
