That was a big mistake. My friend was in the mood for fish and we also wanted to visit a couple of the galleries on Santa Fe Drive, so we took a chance for an early dinner. We were amply rewarded–the food was terrific, the space was comfortable, and the service was efficient and friendly.
There’s a small sushi bar at the entrance and a large, covered and enclosed patio to the south of the building (warm weather use only). You can’t see the main dining room from the street, but it is tucked in the back of the building.
The menu is not huge, but there’s a good selection of starters/small plates, an interesting selection of entrées, plus fried rice and ramen options. There are multiple vegetarian choices in every part of the menu.
The raw menu includes 26 sushi/sashimi choices, 26 regular rolls, eight vegetable rolls, and ten special rolls. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious. The seaweed salad was particularly good. The Unagi (freshwater eel) was extremely tender and flavorful. We also tried the Dragon Roll and the flavor and texture combination was great. Our other nigiri selections were beautifully sliced and at the peak of perfection.
The place was totally packed by 6:00 p.m., but the service continued to be attentive and fast. We had a really great time and the bill was very reasonable. Give this place a try!
The longest I waited for a 2 seat table was 5 minutes, but of course, this can change on a busy day like on First Friday Arts Walk.
The service was excellent. My company was unsure about which saké to buy and we were given a few samples. A server returned about every 10-15 minutes to either refill our water glasses or ask if we were okay. We didn’t have to wait long to ask for the check when we were done, they were very consistent in checking in on us.
The area is a little small, but they did a good job in reducing the decor in favor of space. It just felt a little crowded regardless. So despite the noise not being too bad, we were close enough to other people where we had to raise our voices a little to be heard over them.
Over all, I will continue coming to this restaurant even though parking is a little hard to find in this area. I look forward to trying other things on the menu. As of the day of this review, this is my preferred sushi restaurant.
I had the lunch menu (served until 3), chicken Katsu with salad for $13 was great!
Large portion and chicken was cooked perfectly, had a wonderful crisp and tasty, tangy bbq sauce. Salad was modest with mixed greens and delicious ginger dressing.
Also ordered salmon nigiri which was fresh with had nice texture. Altogether a killer spot, can’t wait to come back!
The sushi here is the greatest I’ve ever had. All of the fish was of the highest quality and was prepared to melt in your mouth. The menu is extremely diverse, ensuring that there is a dish for everyone.
The food here is prepared with the highest care, and quality ingredients that surpass all other restaurants. The owners are Very kind and family-friendly individuals. The staff was extremely hospitable, incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, and they were able to assist me in making a smart selection for an incredible eating adventure.
Finest sushi I’ve had in Denver. We truly adore coming here and absolutely return when I visit Denver.
