The problem start with the food. The steak is a bit overcooked (we order medium rare, and it’s looking like medium).
Secondly, the veggies have no charred nor seasoning. Not sure if they are even on the grill at all.
The mushroom sauce also did not complement the steak at all.
Lastly, one of the waitress that took a photo for us are rushing for some reason and the photo are terrible. (Not a big deal)
Although we are Japanese and not very confident with English, your staff kindly guided us through the menu, and thanks to that, we were able to enjoy a truly wonderful meal.
The salad in particular was exceptionally delicious.
honestly the best we’ve ever had.
Knowing that we can only eat it when we come back to Tasmania makes us a little sad, but at the same time, it gave us a strong reason to return.
We had to head to the airport, so we couldn’t try the dessert, which we regret a bit, but we’ll definitely challenge it next time.
Thank you again for the amazing experience!!!
We stumbled across Rockwall Bar & Grill — and what a blessing that was.

You know when they say food can embody childhood memories? These mains did exactly that.
And to top it off, the service was amazing.
Best wishes to our lovely young waitress who is sitting her Year 12 exams this week and next.
Unfortunately 1 of our meals – lamb back strap smelt odd – like off meat to the diner. Not the actual problem. But when she highlighted to the wait staff and it was taken back to the kitchen we were confronted by the owner who yelled at the diner that there was nothing wrong with the lamb. That he sold 10 others that day and no one complained. He looked at another diner who had the lamb back strap also the owner commented that it diid look under cooked. He aggressively offered her something else – she asked for Risotto – Butternut pumpkin and sage with parmigiano Reggiano – it came out with balsamic vinegar on top. When the diner asked why it had balsamic vinegar on it he said looked at her and said “are yiu for real” its on the menu- its not .. who would put balsamic vinegar on a rissotto… what a horrible experience to end our Tassie Trip.
Tartare average at best, but the “lobster” pate was a joke. While the bread was served with was soft warm and delicious, the pate was basically butter dotted with an occasional specimen of lobster, far from enough to call it a lobster dish, or for that component to add any flavour and real merit to its name sake.
May as well have been called “frozen pink butter with white specks of excuses to charge a higher price”
Left half of it behind. When the issue was raised with staff, they discredited my complaint as a “labelling issue” and when I asked if they would be happy if it was served to them, the response was at least an honest “probably not”.
They went on to not blink, or act even remotely as you’d expect in this business and charge full price, offering not even the slightest attempt for remedy at the legitimate and obvious dissatisfaction backed with photo evidence and a half consumed plate, nor muster even an attempt at an insincere apology.
Side notes : table only had a broken salt grinder, no pepper – had to get that from other tables close by and staff checked in after the food was ordered or delivered to the table. They were too busy gathering at the kitchen talking to other staff to attend my table or any of the others around me.
I vote – avoid !
Ordered the eye fillet and it was lacking in any form or seasoning and had a dry overdone crust.
Menu said it came with a side of rosemary potatoes but there was no rosemary or seasoning on the potato’s either. Also for the price point I think the 2-3 small baby potatoes is a bit underwhelming.
Partner had fish of the day and her comments were that it was a bit dry and the sauce was bland and the potato rosti was soggy and mushy.
Finished with the crème brûlée for dessert and it was really good.
All in all, if you have any level of skill in the kitchen or access to youtube, save yourself some money and make your own steak, or get something else from the menu maybe.
