The food here is amazing! The oysters were chucked perfectly with real horseradish shaved fresh to order! And the braised rib was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious! Staff was friendly and timely with their service. I will definitely be coming back here next time I’m in town!

Stopped here with the girlfriend while having a weekend to ourselves in Charlottesville. Overall we had a good experience. Drinks and small plates – specifically the oyesters & shrimp. I have read where some folks say the plates are overpriced but to me the quality is pretty good. Jackie, our server, was amazing and anticipated everything that we needed before having to be asked. Thanks for a good experience.

The food and staff were great. I ordered tuna and salad while my wife ordered the steak. Excellent dinner. The ambience does not feel very formal due to the bright lighting and open eating area. We were expecting a more intimate setting. Recommended though.

The oysters were local Virginia oysters and very good but their price point was a little high. The oyster Po’boy was pretty good but a little small compared to other restaurants.

Decided to try Rocksalt today, Matthew did a super great job at taking care of us. Food was tasty a little over priced but worth coming back to again.

Happy Hour offers great oysters at a lower price and good drinks. The drink prices are reasonable and the food is fantastic. I have had two different entrees from here, three starters (not including the raw bar), and the raw oysters.

The staff is fantastic and I’ve never had an issue with wait time or service.

This is one of my favorite places to go before or after going to a movie at Regal. I definitely recommend it.

Have eaten at Rock Salt three times with a business companion while in town on an extended business trip. All visits resulted in mixed feelings about the food. Pleasantly to deliciously flavored entrees with an over abundance of greenery to compensate for extremely small protein portion sizes…neither of us have ever seen a swordfish steak or half a chicken that small as a main entree. Beef entrees were top notch. Fabulous french fries. My dining companion was very pleased with the oysters on all three visits, both with quality and selection. Different side dish selections each visit, with mixed feelings on flavor and preparation. Everything is a la cart. Wide selection of wines and specialty brews, but they were out of our first choices on each visit. Above average prices, plan on $40 for dinner plus drinks per person. One visit, the waitress dumped half of my entree onto my lap while placing it on the table. She could not apologize enough and they did some compensation for the mishap, but I ended up having to throw away my jeans and shirt because the stain would not wash out. Service has been consistently above average (even with the food in lap incident) and staff is pleasant and correctly attentive in our opinions.

Meh. Expensive cocktails. Service was good and friendly. My friends had oysters, which appeared to be good and they were happy with them. I made the mistake of ordering pasta with clams. Too salty, small portion, and incredibly, had cheese in it. Never again.

Fresh food, great tastes. My server was Tony and dude was awesome. Dude had more soul than a sock with a hole. He has great drink recommendations and great food suggestions as well. Tony, adding a side of honey to them hush puppies was brilliance. It’s those little things I appreciate about a place to eat.

Food was pretty good, although overpriced. Oysters are definitely overpriced, check out Public fish and oyster downtown for that. The major reason for a 3-star is the slow service. Took twenty minutes to get the oysters we ordered, 20 minutes for first course, and another 20 minutes for main dish. Don’t come here before a movie or if you are hungry. I can see the appeal to come here for a few drinks and some oysters (seems to be what most people were doing).
