i would give jim 10 stars if i could, not only did he open for us over an hour after closing, but he told us wonderful stories of his father and all his rock art creations. he absolutely went above and beyond for us. all of the art had us smiling, laughing, and so happy! and the pasties are so delicious! we picked out 6 different flavors and every single one was absolutely delightful! Jim is such a wonderful person and it was such a blessing to get to see all that Rocks for Fun Cafe has! I genuinely hope to be able to come back to again!

What an amazing place! Jim is the kindest friendliest man I’ve ever met, I wish I could’ve met his Dad. There are many creations that are designed just to bring a smile to your face. Everything he’s done is to make the world a happier place and I believe he accomplished this in spades. If you are a ‘True Scotsman’ I guess the pasties don’t cut it. But for the rest of us they are a delicious treat that excites the palate and reminds of the great treasure that Rocks For Fun Cafe is

I have purchased 1,000+ pasties from this place over the years. I visited on May 27, 2025 while on my way back to Milwaukee from Up North. I was told this establishment no longer accepts credit or debit cards; “was that a problem” for me? “The credit card company was screwing me.” I told him I don’t ever carry much cash and didn’t have enough on me to pay for the sizable quantity I intended to purchase. He suggested I visit the gas station down the road, which has an ATM. I told him he had lost my business.

He made a short-sighted poor decision. Cards encourage customers to buy more of his product and make impulse purchases. Card fees are a cost of doing business. How about Stripe or Venmo? Plus he can cheat even more on his taxes since cash doesn’t leave a trail.

So just be aware to bring cash and patience to deal with this person as he systematically destroys his business with decisions and attitude.

So I’m very dissatisfied. I know this is a family outfit and I always want to support local and I love pasty’s!!! Like really love pasty’s……
I’ve been eating them since I was a kid I’m 52 now. ( my family’s from the U.P)

The pasty was shaped weird. The directions to warm them up was to microwave them because they only sell frozen ones. (I’m thinking after trying to eat one it’s because they don’t want you to know how bad they are in there face) the crust is wrong, the filling is flavorless and as you can see in the picture it’s just about un edible.
We ended up here because we are visiting friends in Green Bay and they were about the only option unless we drove to iron mountain.(We should have!!!) I would not recommend going here unless they post that they have seriously changed how these so called pasty’s are prepared.
I welcome any feedback from this owner and honestly would like a refund for the ones I bought. That’s how bad they are.

Super happy we unexpectedly found this place. The owner was beyond nice. The rocks were fun to look at. Unfortunately they don’t have any hot pastys or on demand….only frozen. We were not able to try them because we did not have a way to keep them frozen. They looked delicious though and so many varieties.

What a gem! This place has so many wonderful choices for pastys, but the real treat is the collection on rock creations by the owners who are more than happy to share the history and surprise of each one of them. Definitely worth the trip!

Neat place, nice enough guy working when i was there, im pretty sure he was the owner.

I have had a lot of pastys from a lot of places and this does not match up with what i consider a traditional pasty.

I suggest you try before you stock up.

My friends and I stopped at Rocks for Fun cafe while on a long trip through Wisconsin from the Ottawa national forest. We had empty stomachs and pasty’s were on our mind. Good thing we stumbled upon the Rocks for Fun Cafe!!!!!!!!
Along with an amazing display of fun, wacky, clever rock art you are met with the largest variety of pasty’s I’ve seen. Creative flavors, friendly faces and silly rocks are the passions behind R4F cafe. We will be back!

I wanted to like it. I really really did. Who wouldn’t want to like a quirky shop by the side of the road in northern Wisconsin with a hand painted sign advertising pasties. In the first instance, Rocks for Fun Café can’t really be called a cafe, as you can’t eat there but can only buy frozen pasties. Having read some of the other Google Map reviews about the texture being rubbery, I decided to give the pasties their best shot by heating them in the oven rather than microwaving them as instructed. I wish I could say I loved them but unfortunately, we were disappointed. I have to agree with others who say these are not traditional pasties. The dough is not flaky but rather more bready and overly sweet and we didn’t love the seasonings, though we preferred the chicken and vegetables to the meat pie. The only upside is that I am inspired to make my own.
