Great diner food! We came for breakfast, and it was legit. Took me back to when my grandparents would take me along to the local diner in our small hometown.
I had the biscuits & gravy, some of the best I’ve ever had. The pancakes were really big and delicious and filling (their secret recipe is one I wish I could get my hands on). Even the maple syrup was better than expected (like maybe they have relatives in Canada that supply them).
The hashbrowns were just like you would expect from a diner like this, part crispy part tender, and not swimming in grease. They were a huge hit.
We got the raisin toast, and it wasn’t your run of the mill bland toast with a few raisins and a brown color swirl. It was cinnamon goodness and sweet raisins aplenty.
The servers were kind, and they made you feel welcome.
We had high hopes for this place, and it met every one of them!

This joint rocks. Classic counter seating with flat top grill within a few feet. Booths run along the wall & additional seating in a connected room. Pleasant atmosphere & the staff very nice. Quick service & plenty of food. Plus free wifi..just ask your waitress.
Price reasonable ~ $11 for the standard daily special (2 links, 2 eggs, potatoes & toast) place even offers grits!
Perfect place for a meal. Open til 2pm closed on Mondays.

Don’t know why it’s taken so long to try this place out. What a fantastic treasure of a diner up the hill from downtown. It reminds me of a small town Midwest greasy spoon but I mean that with love and affection. I could have been sitting across from my dad or grandpa, it took me back to a happy place in my childhood. The food was fantastic! I’m a bit of an omelette expert now and the Anchor omelette was one of my top two in the QC. The staff was so nice and made everyone feel like family. We’ll be back for sure. Thought I’d update this. We’ve been coming at least once a week ever since that first visit. Absolutely our favorite place in the QC.

I had a yummy breakfast of eggs, bacon and grits. Everyone was friendly and efficient. A lot of people seemed to know each other. I probably should have tried the biscuits and gravy because I see a lot of good reviews in that. It was a little cold by the door, but the coffee was hot!

Very good food, I tried the CFS plate and it was very flavorful and tender. Eggs cooked to perfection.

My only big gripe as a kitchen employee myself is that the equipment needed some TLC and elbow grease, especially in an open grill setting where customers are feet away at the counter.

I will be back.

My husband and I live in the neighborhood and had several people tell us to visit. My only regret is we didn’t go sooner! The staff were all so friendly, generous portions, one of my favorite pancakes I’ve ever eaten. We will absolutely be back!

I don’t mind hole in the wall places at all, they usually have the best food! But, an hour wait for a burnt burger, a grilled cheese, and salty biscuits and gravy was a little much. It was busy yes, but if you’re cooking orders table by table, I would think the food would be amazing. At least not burnt

Honestly, the food is great, and at a fair price. The couple of times I’ve been here the service has just been mediocre, but the place was also packed each time. However, great food can’t make me return, because the place is filthy. I wouldn’t mind the old, run-down nature of the building and furnishings if they were clean, but everything is far from clean. That makes me worry about the quality of the food, even if it tastes good. Too bad, because this diner has the potential to be a real gem.

Just like Grandmas! A few friendly staff members and well seasoned food, no bland breakfast potatoes here.

The 1/2 daily special is perfect for someone who wants a little bit of everything, 1 egg 2 strips of bacon 1 slice of toast and potatoes under $10. That’s my go to.

Have some time ready and don’t arrive too close to closing time. There’s just a couple of ladies cooking and serving so there’s a little wait but worth it. They are very nice.

Has to be one of the best finds thus far! Great food, great service! This is what’s being cooked in grandmas kitchen on Sunday morning. It’s simply a hug on plate, they even slice the potatoes fresh to order. Prices are amazing and very affordable. Plus a little added touch all the coffee cups are slightly different and this little guy made me so happy! I can’t wait to go back!
