Please don’t pass this gem up. We had the brisket, pulled pork, sausage, and chicken and dumplings. This is the Best BBQ in SETexas. Very large portions and great service. We spoke to the chef and he was very nice. Big thank you for the great service and food.

By far the worst BBQ I’ve had in my life. Ordered the chopped BBQ sandwich and it was full of grease and BBQ sauce. They mix the sauce in before serving it so it looked like dog food in a ice cream scoop! Got it to go and tried eating it on the way, opened the container and the entire bottom bun was so soggy my fingers went all the way through to the meat. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY

CHICKEN N DUMPINGS! Great chicken and dumplings. Sausage belongs among the best around. Good mealy grind, nice snap on the skin, seasoned like you’d expect a quality Chech Sausage. Potato salad is good, baked beans are good with loads of breakfast Sausage mixed in. The only thing lacking is the brisket. Needed to be seasoned. No spice bark at all. A little salt and pepper could have gone a long way to make it better.

I live in Lumberton.The food is so good we have driven an hour to travel to Rock’n R BBQ in Cleveland just to eat there! Any time I go to Houston, I will usually take the long way home and go North to get takeout at Rock’n R BBQ for my wife on the way home. She expects it now 🙂 . She normally wouldn’t eat turkey or pork, but she loves theirs! When I get takeout I HAVE to get a little something to eat on the way 1hr drive home. Otherwise the good smell of the BBQ drives me crazy and I wind up stopping and eating mine before I get home! They have great tea and excellent desserts. It is well worth adding an extra hour to my drive home from Houston!

Home made Gumbo is to die for! The employees have personality and the atmosphere is chatty. The baked potatoes are a meal for 2. The chef delivered my Gumbo personally. The beef brisket is well smoked. The food is prepared right in front of you. The sweet tea is piping hot ready to melt the ice. Bravo to country cooking done right! Can’t wait to try the large variety.
