One of the unique aspects of Rockin Wok Thai Room is their selection of alcohol beverages. The best Thai in the area!! We used to drive 35 min one way for good Thai food. This isn’t just good, it’s GREAT. Better than any I’ve had locally! I’ve been looking forward to trying this place. The food was REALLY good. Spring rolls were great. And the green curry (chicken) was delicious down to the very last bite. The eggplant took the dish to the next level. It’s a surprising location atop RC’s Restaurant and Lounge long known for its amazing chicken. The upper level is huge with a large stage for live music.

The food was amazing, servers super kind, and portion sizes really generous for the price.

Update: tried it one more time because the portion size was so great and it’s honestly the only Thai place in my area. Portion sizes are considerably huge! This could still easily feed a family of two. Everything on the left is the shrimp in the spicy garlic shrimp. It is a huge pile of big, delicious shrimp. Not those gross little ones that get dried out. Veggies are in the right. I dismantled it to get rid of my shrimp tails. Shrimp seems really well cooked. I wasn’t the one that did the pickup this time so I can’t attest to the service change. I will also comment that medium is still not very spicy so I might try hot next time. For perspective, I don’t go spicier than Chalula on my Mexican.
Original: The food here is mediocre at best. I ordered medium pad Thai exactly as I order it every Thai restaurant I ever go to. So I have a wide scope of comparison. There was absolutely zero spice to this. I had to heavily season it with red pepper flakes to give it a flavor beyond greasy fast food sauce. I will say the serving size was quite generous and one portion that was very well priced could easily feed a family of three to four. But this is a case of the price indicating the quality of food you will get. It was bland and tasted like I could have gotten it out of a cafeteria.
The atmosphere is nothing to speak of. The furniture it looked like uncomfortable partial wrought iron. And a wall of TVs completes the atmosphere.
The service here was atrocious. I did go on a Friday night, but they were far from packed and there were no DoorDash orders on the cart awaiting pickup. There’s really no justification for the terrible service. I used the online ordering offered directly from the restaurant to place a to go order to grab after happy hour with a co-worker nearby. I placed the order fully knowing that my arrival time was flexible and that I would be there within 30 minutes to an hour after my scheduled time. I arrived and could not get any service for a long period of time. After finally getting the bartender’s attention, she said that DoorDash orders were on the doordash cart. I told her I didn’t order DoorDash but ordered through them so she vaguely gestured to a server on the other side of the room and said she would help me. I waited for a much longer time and then finally got that server’s attention. She could also not locate my order and finally went in the back where I could over here her rudely saying that I was 40 minutes late. So I guess this is a place where you have to be on time to pick up your food regardless of the fact that you paid for it and are perfectly fine with it not being hot. Moreover, I would hesitate to order a drink from the bar here. Due to my extended wait, I saw a considerable amount of consternation being made over a basic rum and coke. To the point, that anything beyond wine and beer pours don’t seem trustworthy.

Interesting twist to what once was a dedicated recreational bar for RC’s Chicken upstairs, this Thai restaurant has potential. Stemming from adjacent owned Thai House, the vibe incorporates the old bar and recreational hall with Thai fusion food. Food was ok- the noodles lacked in flavor that Thai food is known to have. Service was sub-par, requiring us to locate our own seats (while servers just stood around chatting), waiting 7 mins before being approached for drink orders (mind-you they had been open for 56 mins and two tables were waiting the rest of their party to arrive. We had to ask for refills and even then, took a while to make its way back to the table. Standard sauces for pho had to be requested and server wasn’t sure if it was offered upon our request. The atmosphere is very social, as the hall filled up with patrons, kids enjoyed their time running around, while adults mingled; sports tv played on the screens and pool tables and dart boards allow for pre/post meal leisure. There seems to be potential live music as there is a stage that allows for that. With additional refinements to processes and a clear definition of what this restaurants wants to be- it can make a name for itself as it enters as an option for Thai dining in SKC.

Update: just got home and it is not good at all…DO BETTER. Food is great but what in the heck is this… I paid $13.99 I expect to get a full container of food. There is nothing in it but juice. I ordered Yellow Curry. Note… I’ve been here several times and always get a full container. Never will return!

What an addition to the Martin City area! The restaurant just opened this last week, so I couldn’t wait to go try it out. Wow! Food was amazing!!! Portions were surprisingly large. Service was fantastic with a friendly wait staff. I can’t recommend this enough!

This is genuinely the worst sticky rice I’ve ever had in my life and was super hard and (maybe?) old so unfortunately we had to just throw it away. I bring this up especially as a Thai restaurant shouldn’t mess up a simple dish such as sticky rice so terribly, so I apologize for how rude this review comes off.
Their noodles are fine. The beef was just weirdly soft for some reason but that just might be a preference thing.
(Sorry for the bluntness of this picture, the agent on the delivery app we used made me take a photo of the rice in the trash to be refunded LOL)

We stumbled across this new upstairs option at RC’s, and I need you to hear me when I say: don’t go, y’all. Stay away. I don’t like sharing. I have been to all the Thai places in town from the Crossroads to Waldo to the OP and beyond–you know the ones I am talking about with the fancy drinks and vibe, as well as the strip mall favs. This place is real real, and we had the best yellow curry and pineapple fried rice (Bangkok style) in the metro. The flavor, the texture–all the yum. The tofu came fried just like I like it, and the service was friendly and not too much or too little. A band was setting up, and there was a mix of people, including families. So, stay away. It was way too easy to get a table right away and get food and service, and we’re looking forward to many future dinners.
