Have you ever entered a restaurant only to have to track down the host to be seated and then get seated in a back room even though you made reservations the week before? Did you then wait for over two hours and still not receive your food? Did the manager NOT come to your table to explain why it was taking so long and did you instead have to seek out the manager only to be told that “you knew it was going to be busy when you made the reservation!”. Did the waitstaff take 30 minutes to bring your drinks and then leave you in seclusion while all the guests in the main room of the restaurant got served? Have you ever watched someone you know come in after you, order their food, get served their food, eat their food and then leave all within 40 minutes while you sat at your table with an empty glass and nothing to tide you over for over an hour after? Have you ever been to a restaurant that made you feel more like a ‘burden’ than a ‘guest?’

This is what happened to our dinner party at the Rockin’ K last weekend. Not only did the angry clueless manager (or wife of the manager) not show her cowardly face at our table, but the waitstaff was hardly to be seen. We ended up moving our entire party to Chili’s in neighboring Pittsburg where we were promptly seated and served our meals within 15 minutes of ordering.

We visited the Rockin K because its location was a shorter drive for some of our family, but this was the second time in a year that we experienced extremely poor service (last year I was there with family and ordered a Heineken only to find rust underneath the bottle cap – OLD BEER!). And their food is NOT better than Jim’s Steakhouse. In fact, their food is not that good at all and the place is filthy. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.
