Our last trip to Salem we ate here twice. The food is absolutely delicious. I got crab cakes which were perfectly seasoned and a garden salad full of big vegetable pieces. My husband got a burger and he enjoyed it. We shared a piece of their peanut butter pie, YUM! Don’t miss out on their mystery shots either. So fun to see what the flavor is for the day. Any server we have had there has been so kind and helpful. We will be back this April and I am so ready to eat here.

Rockafellas is a great spot right in the heart of Salem. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with a nice mix of historic charm and modern vibe. The menu has something for everyone, from fresh seafood to hearty comfort food, and everything we tried was delicious. The service was attentive and friendly, and the staff made us feel right at home.
It’s also a perfect place to grab drinks with friends—the bar has a great selection and the cocktails were excellent. Whether you’re visiting Salem or live nearby, Rockafellas is definitely worth a stop!

This was possibly the best food we had while in Salem! The portions are generous and everything tasted amazing! The salmon and risotto were my favorite but the muscle linguine was incredible! Plenty of muscles!!! The staff were friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was lovely. The locals at the table next to us even recommended a few good shops

Me and my family came here on our first trip to Salem after seeing it so much on Derek Millen videos on youtube
Although we dos not try the famous Mystery Shot, we dis try the food which was amazing!
The Mediterranean pasta was a great vegetarian option!
My dad fell in love with the Steak that comes with Aspargus and gorgonzola butter, he even ordered it again when we went a second time
Erick was our waiter and he was very kind and helpful, definitely made our time there more special!
Loved the spooky vibes with the haunted history of the place!
I liked the haunted bathroom downstairs and would recommend that as well
Definitely recommend and you can smell how good the food is from the outside

Surprisingly the side dish of risotto was the best meal very flavorful and perfect consistency. Great spooky drink selection. The rosemary wings are a second best recommendation. The pasta was ok. During October no reservations just first come.

The Portobello Tower was fantastic. Very flavorful, and I’m not even a vegetarian. I just really like mushrooms. My buddy had the buttermilk chicken sandwich, and he said it was solid. We were dead tired during this meal from traveling all day, and they made it a very enjoyable and hassle-free dining experience.

Place was hopping so we sat at the bar to eat and met Andrew! This young man was phenomenal. He made our drinks, put in our orders, had fabulous suggestions, and was the best bartender we have ever had! I think he could make anything and was extremely knowledgeable. Our food was FAST and was so good! The chili was out of this world! We even went back after touring Salem to get a dessert drink . His Old Fashioned and Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini was perfect! Thank you Andrew for such a great experience.

Our group of 5 took a bus trip to Salem during peak Halloween season and decided to splurge on a private room in The Vault, which required a $50 non-refundable fee. (Rockefella’s is located in a historic bank on Essex St.) Our jaws dropped when the hostess led us into the dimly-lit room which was indeed a vault, decorated in skull wallpaper and black curtains. Atmosphere? A++
The menu is full of lots of reasonably priced lunch choices, including sandwiches, flatbreads, burgers, salads, etc., as well as interesting drinks. It was all delicious and our drinks even had the private Rockafella label! Food? A++
Our server was extremely friendly and treated us like VIPs. She served our food promptly and was very attentive. Service? A++
All in all, this was a meal experience we are not likely to forget. Kudos to Rockafella’s !!

Although we weren’t super hungry, we decided to stop for just a quick snack and drinks to people watch on the front patio. This is also another top place to eat while visiting Essex Street.
The staff was friendly and the menu looked great. Drinks were also wish I was a local to come back for more.

We booked the vault during prime dinner time on the last weekend before Halloween so it was fabulous to skip the lines and have brief reprieve from the craziness outside. We ordered 3 drinks from the ‘secret vault’ special menu and they were all very good. Unfortunately the food quality didn’t hit the mark and out of everywhere we ate over the weekend, it was probably the worst food. It wasn’t terrible or inedible but the Mediterranean pasta dish was very bland, the chicken was way overcooked and gamey & the potatoes were just boring. The 3 desserts we ordered after ward were delicious though! The most disappointing part came from the fact that the reservation said you’d get ‘souvenir glasses’ so we were expecting… ya know some adult sized glass drinkware, and we were given these very cheap plastic kids cups that said ‘the vault’ on it. Was it worth $50 just for the reservation? Yes and no. It was nice to skip the lines and have some peace and some space on what is probably their busiest weekend, but if it wasn’t a special birthday celebration and the weekend before Halloween I would probably lean more towards a no. I do not think I’d reserve the vault again. I probably would visit again though, to try and see if the food issue was a fluke though.
