Popped past looking for a lightish meal and was pleasantly surprised to find Roxck Yard Restaurant. We didnt make a booking and tried our luck at ealking in. We were greated with a friendly hostess, who cleared a table for us, it was luck as this was a busy dinner time and obviously a table had resently left. Menus were browsed and atmosphere taken in. Not looking for a heavy meal ordered 4 Small Beginning plates from the menu. With a beer served up it was time for the small beginnings. Although it wss very hard to give the 4 dishes a rating – The Calamari was top rated, it was large crispy and oh so tender, with the dipping sauce it was total delectable joy, folloed closely by the dumplings which were served on a spoon with a mainade below… almost deolved in your mouth, the Fresh rolled rice paper rolls were amazingly fresh. And we can not let the fried chicken wings go without a strong word – empowering – full of flavour, tender cooked and left you wanting more although there were ample amount served. We were not rushed in our meal and chat was buzzing in the resturant. Atmosphere was a 4.9/5, food a 5/5, service 4.8/5. I rate this over all a highly and a pleasant and refreshing find and will be back to try other dishes.

The restaurant has an inviting cool vibe to it as soon as you enter with vivid multi-colored hanging lanterns. The service was quick and efficient. Food was quite tasty, especially the starters – we loved our green popcorn chicken and the grilled prawn vol-au-vent. The others loved their mains, my pork two ways noodle stir fry was yummy apart from a few of the noodles clumping together. But they’re rice noodles, so understandable.

Our experience at Rock Yard was absolutely fantastic. Shoutout to our waitress (Phong – hope I spelled it correctly). She was super attentive and friendly. The food was so tasty and the overall atmosphere was really cool.
We shared the fried spring rolls and the vegetarian summer roles. As a main we had the chicken and tofu&mushroom curry. All of it was delicious, the curry was really one of the best I’ve ever had.
Highly recommend going to Rock yard if you look for an outstanding Vietnamese restaurant in Wellington.

My first time visit! Fall in love straightaway! The atmosphere is beautiful, the waitress who served us was so welcoming & helpful, and the food is amazingly delicious! We shared crispy dumplings and green bao ban with eggplants as starter, then pancake & noodles for main. The food was generous and delicious. I never thought vegetarian options can be so full of taste and varieties!

Rock Yard was the perfect choice for my friend and I for a quick pre-show meal. The menu has a really good range to suit all appetites. We just selected some starters and coconut rice for a quick, light meal. Everything was delicious ( I especially liked the crispy buttercup golden pillow dumplings) and the service was welcoming and efficient. I look forward to dining here again and trying out more of the menu

Super hot day outside, air-conditioning is lovely, super friendly, attentive staff, fast meal service. Pork express lunch was delicious and filling $18. Vietnamese Coffee was delicious!!! Clean, tidy intimate restaurant. They do have 6 x stairs leading to main restaurant but there are 2 x tables and bar seating down below that are wheelchair friendly from the road.
