Go check them out and thank me later
But the way I rate Japanese restaurants is how they serve green tea. If they give a tea bag it speaks to their attention to details. This green tea was served brewed delicious without a tea bag. But what set this place apart is that they served delicious honey and lemon with the tea. This was a 1st for me.
The only negative I can think of is that the place was excessively noisy.
Highly recommended
Coming from an 18 years in hospitality I would point out these opportunities that you might help you increase sales, and bring in more guests.
1. Invest in you staff, they might be good in service but lack the hospitality way of doing things. Your Sushi restaurant opens around 5pm most days, and with that being said, hospitality is really important by focusing on quality not quantity. It is not how many tables that you can seat per hour. Trust me on that.
2. Train your staff to welcome, their guests, by asking questions: ” Have you visited us before?” “Is this your first time here?” “Let me guide you through the menu?” ” Are you allergic to shell fish?” Etc…
3. Edemame was too Salty, and had to flick off the salt from each piece. It could be a health hazard for people with high blood pressure. If I knew that much salt would be in the dish, I would have asked no salt. This is up to the wait staff to know more about food items and what to ask guests.
4. Sushi plate; presentation is weak, no Wasabi nor Ginger was on the plate. I am fully aware of the food cost, but the eye eats before the mouth. I didn’t feel the passion and love put into the plate. I had to ask for ginger.
5. Ambience: lighting is not in your best favor, the restaurant is open dining and was so loud. Music barely can be heard.
Bar area lighting was not designed to pop out the background.
6. Good job on bringing in the Pessimist Wine, my favorite blend.
7. Always ask your guests for desserts. It will increase your ticket.
I like to help local businesses grow and please take advantage of my critique and try to improve as much as possible.
The place has huge potential for growth.
Good luck
Rainbow roll interior is packed with shredded Krab (Alaska Pollock), some avocado, and sushi mayonnaise which is a disappointing interior for a premium roll. In general I avoid sauces on sushi; it distracts from the elegance of the fish. Solid Krab, avocado, and maybe cucumber is my preference, but this is often left to interpretation by the individual restaurant. The actual fish, roe, garnishments, and sushi rice were delightful.
Music is played too loud inside and outside. Nice songs, but they really should turn it down a few dB.
