Classic dive bar with karaoke every night. Good energy and the crowd is a fun mix of locals and regulars. The vibe is mostly laid-back and unpretentious. Fries and beer were solid (no surprises), and the bar menu does the job if you’re hungry. Great place to unwind, sing your heart out, or just people-watch over a cold one.

The ceasar salad was big and delicious! Spicy chicken was big and delicious! The jerk dish was horrible! No jerk seasoning, no spice and disappointing. T.C. Williams 40th class Reunion alumni. #classof85

The overall atmosphere is okay. Immediately upon walking in it smelled like smoke/and or musty inside.

Food quality was okay for a bar. Had make your own burger and a drink and it ended up being over $23 without tip, so a bit pricey. The fries were good for a side but my hamburger wasn’t made to desired temperature and I felt the hamburger would’ve done better with caramelized onions instead of cut onions.

Overall- I may visit again but there are plenty of other food restaurants and bars on King St.

I am very conflicted. I have never ate here and have only came for drinks/karaoke. Good atmosphere very diverse. Karaoke was free at one point and now costs. Majority of staff is very friendly. Had an issue with one server basically demanding we order only through her when her service was basically non existent.

Always have a good time however. Drinks fairly priced for Alexandria. Just wish didn’t have the sever

Y’all, this used to be my SPOT. I loved hanging here, and I did so much that the bouncer, DJs and regulars all knew me pretty well. But I feel so unwelcome and unwanted as a loyal regular, because of how I was treated.
Other people reviewing are right, the female blonde DJ is rude and unprofessional (in my opinion, also), but the real reason I no longer support my favorite karaoke bar anymore is because of the bartender.
Trying to make it short – basically, she (bartender, middle aged, blonde, glasses) would refuse to serve me ice water (she did this on multiple occasions, also to other patrons). Her reasoning was always that apparently I don’t buy enough?? But I always either bought food, beer, or brought friends with me who would.
The final straw was when I brought a group of friends to sing. I had dinner beforehand and was the designated driver that evening, so I only wanted water. My friends got food and beers for the table. I ask for more water because I was singing, and was immediately met with the most attitude, the bartender saying I’d had enough (like she’s cutting me off from overuse) when I only had one glass. And I was singing? And the DD? (I told her all this, didn’t matter to her).
And like… I’m a regular, remember? I was spending my money OFTEN here, I wasn’t trying to scam your business out of tap water – something that as a society we have the good sense to offer to customers for free. But instead, the bartender not only refused me water, but went behind our backs and told our waiter to not give our table anymore water, either. I know this is true because we asked him for it, and he never came back. My friend was forced to buy a $6 water bottle, which is, in my opinion, why this is a scam. Refusing water, which is free, to make you buy out of necessity. Very grimy business practice, in my opinion. Felt like a conspiracy to piss off some of your most loyal customers, honestly.
And it worked. I feel that I was treated as a sub-human for asking for something that other establishments offer for free. But the worst is feeling like all my business and support of this place never mattered.
My takeaway is that my business here wasn’t worth a glass of water to this place, so I won’t return.

If you are looking for a karaoke dive, look no further! This place has a fantastic and eclectic mix of people and the karaoke mixes all across the musical spectrum. The best part of this place is the wait staff. They are very personable and attentive to your needs. Great late night food and the drinks are everything you need to keep your night fun and interesting. Can’t recommend enough!

AVOID FOR KARAOKE! TERRIBLE “DJ”! FEMALE, 40S?
I invited my friends out and told them I knew this really good spot. I would go there often with my Husband. We LOVE karaoke! They all arrived (all 10 of them), and we ordered drinks. The first part that had taken me back a bit was finding out that we now had to pay the DJ $5 if we wanted to sing for the night. Then, once you signed up you were not allowed to sign up twice until you had sang your first song. This left some confusion. So, my Husband said “I signed up and then I also signed you up so we can sing a duet”. I was excited. I went up after about 5 songs, signed myself up to do a solo and the DJ started to yell at me saying I needed to pay her. I explained that my Husband paid for me already. She then proceeded to say that I am not allowed to sign up because I have my name already written down for the Duet. I explain those are two different situations and that there would definitely be at least 30-45 minutes between the two. She scoffed at me, rolled her eyes and said “write it”. I went back to my seat. An hour went past and I still have not sang my solo. I gave it another 30 minutes.. Then my friend who just signed up, was up to sing. The problem is that now, I have spent two hours waiting to sing my song. I was finally in queue after 10 minutes. My friends were already calling their Ubers, and I had just enough time to sing and then we would all leave. Once I was finally up, she threw my name back on the bottom of the list. Heated, I went up to her and asked what happened. I explained all of which I had just typed on this post. She very rudely and aggresivly said “I told you already!!!- You are not allowed to sing until everyone else has!! I said I would have to put you on the bottom of the list!!”. Then I asked what system she had in place to account for “being on the bottomw of the list”, considering that I had just been queued to sing next. She started yelling at me, throwing her hands in the air- I cut her off and said that her way of doing business unprofessional. We brought in soo many customers. I waited- they ALL waited for me-spending even morreeee $$ on drinks to kill time. Tactic??? Idk. Also- I forgot to mention that in between waiting over the 2 hours, she would yell at the customers after their song screaming for them to give the mic back (which was attached by a wire and the song would literally just be diminishing). Another situation was she took a mic from a customer, snatching it aggressively because she wanted to give an English lesson to us saying that Lady Gagas ” You and I” was improper and she hates when people choose to sing that song because it drives her crazy. I have more, but you get the point. Long story short, we all left. What was supposed to be a night out with friends turned into dud. So many missed opportunities. 10000 out of 10 never going back and never recommending again. YOU LOST LOYAL CUSTOMERS. GOOD JOB.

This place was a good time. The drinks and food were pretty good. The bartender was very helpful with helping me pick the fish and chips. Karaoke starts at 9:30pm and there is a $5 to sign up, I believe. People line up before the DJ gets started, so sit near the door to be close to the line to sign up.

Rock It Grill was a fun spot to enjoy a bite to eat. The seating and interior are just your basic bar style arrangements. I wasn’t super impressed with the food (had a mushroom Swiss burger and potato skin appetizer), there didn’t seem to be a lot of flavor. Staff were fine, although my water didn’t get refilled during our time there. We didn’t stay for karaoke, but many say that it is one of the best places around for karaoke with some fairly talented singers participating frequently.

Decent spot if you’re looking for a drink cold beer or to watch the game I see they have karaoke nights five dollars you sing all night me and my wife walked in got a booth probably met by a young lady who offered up two menus and brought us some cold water which was appreciated. It was a hot day in Alexandria. I ordered a burger. My wife ordered the sizzling fajitas. The sizzling fajitas definitely came out sizzling and the burger that I ordered medium well was well done but I’m not gonna complain about that. Definitely was fresh the french fries not so much had some overcooked ones, but I guess I would say they were decent overall, when we walked in, we were listening to Lil Wayne by the time we walked out we were listening to Ariana Grande so the music selection definitely varies. My wife enjoyed the fajitas. I wasn’t a fan of the seasoning, but they were decent the burger I had with cheddar cheese was actually, not bad. Had to ask for a side of mayo to add to the burger seems they were short staffed I get it it’s early afternoon but the streets of old town Alexandria are always busy specially since they were having a tent sale on King Street with multiple vendors and merchandise outside, I figured they would be better prepared for such an occasion it took literally 10 to 15 minutes to get a bill after we were done eating in about 10 minutes for us to get checked out but other thant the food was decent for bar food, but not sure if I will return again
