Wow! What an awesome bar. I love EVERYTHING about this place. Great beer selection, great pinball selection all in excellent condition, and a old school CD jukebox with great music selection. Free pinball on Sunday and tournaments twice a month? Hell yeah I’ll be there! Ashley the bartender was very welcoming and friendly. The owners clearly know what they’re doing and the atmosphere they’re created is perfect. Love the movie posters in the bathrooms. Next time we’ll come earlier to try out the food. Kinda bummed this place isn’t closer to my house but might be a good thing otherwise I’d be there every night. My only critique is the audio system/speakers didn’t sound that good which was unfortunate considering how much I loved the jukebox music but that might have something to do with jukebox more than the speaker system? Eagerly looking forward to visiting again and will keep eyes peeled for future events at the bar.

Incredibly cool place on the south side. Huge outdoor patio, great rotating selection of craft beers, and excellent food from the kitchen (Red’s the People’s Pie makes unbelievably good Detroit-style pizzas). But I miss Mike V behind the bar, and it doesn’t seem like they’re continuing the drive-in movies without him. Those were always two highlights of my visits here, so I’m sad to see them gone.

Great gem in Blue Island. Love the ambiance and drinks. The service is always amazing. Mike V. and the drive inn movie were a big draw. He’s a very attentive and interesting guy who makes amazing drinks. Hoping to see him back there soon.

I’m so disappointed with RIPH. Why would they support someone who has hurt so many of our friends. I feel like Mike jaded the blue Island community by not being held accountable for his actions. Our group has well over 100 people in it, how many haven’t come forward, how many re live their trauma just to hang with friends.

I’ve been back once since Mike left, but the vibe just isn’t the same. He was a character and kept me entertained, really added to the experience. It feels like a void has been left by him leaving. Really miss him and would definitely come back weekly if he were on staff.

Drinks were great, bartender was great. The only thing that needs improvement is the service from the kitchen. Nachos was missing the chorizo and the cook had an attitude about it. Other than that it’s a good place to grab a few drinks.

A bar is supposed to be a place to relax and enjoy a drink safely with friends. Rock Island Public House has a bartender who is currently accused of drugging and assaulting multiple women. I hope RIPH will make the right decision and cut ties with this individual for the safety of its’ patrons and community.
