They had steak fingers and they were the bomb.
Cashier charged me $15.85 for an omelette when the menu clearly stated it was 10.85. She said her menu didn’t reflect the current prices. Which is illegal and false advertising.
Don’t come here unless you are starving and haven’t eaten in 5 days I’ve had gas station burritos better than this slop.
Super slow service 30 minutes for simple two eggs and hash browns meal. Prices are reasonable, convenient location, not very attentive staff, overall understaffed facility. Looks like someone already ate it???? Why such a tiny portion of the hash browns ? Bad COLD food with black things on the back of my cold eggs and cold dry and leather like hash browns Seriously guys??? Not nice.
One lesson life has taught me is if you can stop by a local diner when passing thru small towns give them a try because you dont know what you’re missing out on !
** I regret not taking a picture of my food **
We were very pleased. Easy pull into he large parking lot for our Motorhome & trailer.
Staff were quick to take our order & helpful with answers to our questions.
I had the Chicken fried steak with baked potato. Wife had the pork chop plate. Seasoning of the CFS was perfect. Pork chop was tender & delicious. Both were very good.
Seating area was large, fun history on walls, good ambiance to eat in.
You will not be disappointed in this great place
2. The service was terrible. Took 30 mins to get food. No refills. Then we NEVER got a check. We had to wait for someone to come from the back like we had been doing the whole time we were there.
3. Bugs all over the window. Bugs jumping in my food. Pie up front had flies all over it. If you can’t maintain the front, I wonder how the kitchen is doing!
4. We paid over $100 and barely touched anything. No one cares there.
5. The gas station next door has decent burritos and I would have paid $200 for that burrito after what I experienced.
For dinner, we stopped at Rock Inn Cafe in Memphis, Texas. It’s a cute country styled cafe with friendly staff. I grew up saying “yes ma’am, no ma’am and yes sir, no sir “. Now I was the one being ma’amed .
We both ended up ordering the Chicken Fried Steak meal. That included two pieces of hand battered steak with homemade cream gravy, fresh cut fries, and a salad. The Rock Inn Cafe claims their chicken fried steak is what made them famous. I’d agree. The steak was basically fork tender and packed with flavor!! Most chicken fried steak is bland and you need the gravy for flavor. Gravy is an option for this dish, it’s delicious either way. I’d definitely recommend the Rock Inn Cafe if you’re ever in Memphis, Texas ♥️
