The Rock City Mercantile, near the City of Rocks, is a great little place owned by a locals in Almo. They have a pizza restaurant as well as a small store. If you’re looking to just grab a quick bite to eat, this might not be the place. They take their time when they make their pizzas, but they are done right. They have a ridiculous amount of outdoor seating, and the chance of you not being able to get the pizza you want and sit down with your group is highly unlikely. Their store is small and fairly basic. What you can buy will be dependent on what time of year you visit. However, if you’re looking for some of the grocery or cooking basics, these guys probably have it. If you’re looking for beer or alcohol, these guys probably have it. Especially local and specialty IPAs. You can find an assortment of candies snacks, and any kind of soft drink. They also have some other basics like toilet paper and first aid kits or some cooking utensils. It’s pretty organized and if you ask for help, they know exactly where everything is. It’s worth your time to swing in and see what it’s like, and even purchase a candy bar or a drink for the road.

Great tasting pizza when it is available. The staff were great people . The beer selection is incredible. We have never seen a better selection of beer in any small town store anywhere.

General store, beer/beverages and sometimes pizza… we lucked out on Sat and beat the rush. $34 is pretty steep, it was a good pizza. Side of ranch is 1$ about 2 Tbsp size, so you could buy 5 bottles worth with that ratio.
Seating was outdoors and fine, casual friendly area. We met some folks from Canada and had a great dinner convo with them. Can get busy, 30-45+ min.

It is a cute little place. Great variety of beer (canned). And they just recently added pizza. I thought pizza was okay. We didn’t have to wait long for our pizza. They have outdoor patio to eat and drink.

Quaint little rest stop location. The staff was friendly and there’s a decent selection of snacks and beverages for the whole family. They also have a nice, chilled collection of local beer.
If you’re passing through, this is one of the few places to stop and get a bite to eat. There’s also a restaurant that functions during the summer season.

Great food and more than just pizza! Super helpful to grab a few odds and ends we forgot. Pizza is great. I see a lot of people posting they are mad about the hours, this was my first visit and yes it’s a very small town so plan ahead. Looks like they are doing their best and can’t be at everyone’s beck and call all hours of the day.

We stopped at Rock City for pizza on our way to the City of Rocks. The pizza was fantastic! We enjoyed their cold drink selection. As we were heading out we ended up with a flat tire on a Sunday. Turns out they have a shop mechanic who was able to fix our tire and get us on our way. Staff at Rock City are all very friendly!
