Rockland isn’t known for its reviews but is a great town with a great food scene. The envy in some ways of the surrounding communities, at least from the restaurants. Rock City is no exception, if you want a great cup of coffee and a delicious breakfast bite this is one of the best cafe’s to happen upon. The food takes a minute as it’s all homemade and not microwaved like the drivethru spots. Enjoy and support local!

I didn’t try any of the food. The coffee was well foamed, but I can’t vouch for the espresso quality, as the latte was sickeningly sweet. My husband and I both ordered a dark chocolate sea salt mocha and had to toss them. I tried the maple as well (the only other flavor that isn’t a Torani syrup), and that was also overpoweringly sweet. I had high hopes for a well crafted latte with robust flavor, but this cafe didn’t deliver. The staff however were very friendly and knew their way around an espresso machine.

Lovely place to stop by for a bite to eat! The staff was very friendly and our food came out super quickly. Many food and drink options, freshly baked goods as well. Lots of indoor seating, and the cozy atmosphere really makes the experience. There is also a little bookstore in the back.

Rock City has solidified itself as the best coffee shop in Rockland. The staff is top tier, the espresso is perfection, and the breakfast wraps are something you can’t miss! This place is the best part of my morning!!

First time visiting, I ordered a bacon, egg, & Cheddar on brioche.   They only serve scrambled aggs which were falling out of the sandwich and necessitated using a fork, but was otherwise very tasty. The Mt Battie coffee, touted as the red wine of coffee….was just ok. Not as rich and flavorful as I’d hoped/expected.

I also got a couple of the rosemary garlic scones to go, which we enjoyed very much.  They didn’t have a large selection of baked goods (it was about 11 a.m), but what they did have looked very tasty.

Cecile brought my food over and noticed a tourist map I was reading.  She expertly guided me to the places worth seeing. And even marked the trail with a sharpie. Her recommendations definitely did not disappoint!

The restaurant itself was well worn and  a bit rustic. Very busy, but plenty of seating. One recommendation would be to either get a larger trash barrel or to empty the ridiculously small one  alot more frequently, as it was overflowing.

I love this coffee shop! I come to Rockland every year, and every year we start the morning off at Rock City Cafe. The atmosphere is very relaxed, supported by funky alternative music and friendly baristas.

This cafe sports your traditional local coffee options, as well as a light lunch selection of sandwiches and salads. The sandwiches are very good, I would recommend the turkey sandwich and the pastrami Reuben.

The cookies are enormous and more cake like than cookie like, but a a very nice treat. All of the bakery items are made in house. Gluten free and dairy free options are available as well!

My husband and I snuck in here right before close. We got a nitro cold brew and a dark and salty almond milk latte. The coffee was high quality and delicious! The staff was very nice as well.
