RoccoVino’s in Orland Park has become one of our favorite spots for authentic Italian with a creative twist—think incredible pasta, fresh seafood, veal, chops, and their amazing pizzas—but what truly sets it apart are two exceptional team members: our incredible waiter David and manager Nelson.
David is simply one of the best servers I’ve ever experienced. He’s warm, super attentive, remembers little details to make you feel right at home, and his recommendations are always spot-on (trust him on the specials—they’re phenomenal!). He strikes the perfect balance of friendly, efficient, and genuinely caring, turning a regular meal into a standout occasion every time.
Then there’s Nelson, the manager who clearly leads with passion and goes way above and beyond. He personally checks in, ensures everything runs flawlessly, and brings such a welcoming energy to the entire restaurant. Whether it’s a family dinner, date night, or celebration, Nelson makes every visit feel special and handled with top-notch care. The whole team seems energized by his leadership, and it shows in the vibe and service.
Thank you so much, David and Nelson, for everything you do—you don’t just serve great food; you create memorable experiences that keep us coming back. RoccoVino’s is lucky to have you both leading the way!
If you’re in Orland Park, make sure to visit RoccoVino’s and request David if you’re dining in—you’ll see exactly what I mean. These two make it exceptional! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
After being seated, we received bread and water, but not from our assigned server. We then sat at our table for almost 20 minutes while multiple servers walked past and made eye contact with us, but no one came over. My boyfriend eventually had to get up and ask a server for help. To his credit, that server was very nice and took our order right away.
Unfortunately, my boyfriend’s main entrée arrived before our appetizers. He felt uncomfortable sending it back, but we had to explain that it was supposed to be his dinner, not an appetizer.
Once the food arrived, it was actually very good, which is the main reason I’m giving two stars instead of one. However, after that, we were never checked on again. No one asked if we needed refills or how everything was. When we finished eating, we sat for another 15 minutes before flagging down our server just to get the check.
We considered staying for dessert, but didn’t want to risk being stuck waiting another half hour.
Overall, the food was great, but the service was extremely disappointing, especially for a holiday like Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning due to the service experience.
For a Monday evening, it was more crowded than I was expecting. We had reservations and we’re seated right away. In general, I’m not a huge fan of Italian food, but I was pleasantly surprised at the menu options, and we enjoyed all of our selections.
For our appetizer, we had the Steak Tagliata. This is a grilled filet with portobello mushrooms, spinach in a balsamic sauce.
For our entrees we enjoyed the WhiteFish Italiano and Capellini Gamberi; both were excellent choices. The WhiteFish Italiano had a lemon, garlic, oregano and white wine sauce. The Capellini Gamberi was an angel pasta dish with grilled shrimp, spinach and an olive oil garlic sauce.
For dessert, we tried the Banana Cake with Cream Cheese frosting. My husband and I both grilled the waitress about how it was made. It’s funny, we both like banana flavor, but we both hate banana texture. Well the cake didn’t have chunks of bananas and was puréed very well. All we tasted was the banana flavor, which was our goal! LOL!
I definitely wouldn’t mind coming here again, and trying other entrees on the menu as well as the pizza!
Following up on our phone conversation from today, I’m writing to express my disappointment. I ordered a pizza with half cheese and half beef and gardiniera peppers. However, upon returning home, the pizza I received was missing the beef. Despite bringing this to your attention, your response lacked professionalism. You offered no resolution for the mistake and, incredibly, implied the error was mine. This is unacceptable, especially considering our family’s consistent patronage, averaging about 18 pizza orders a year, with a peak during our summer pool parties. We also consistently tip your drivers generously. Due to today’s poor customer service, we, unfortunately, will not be ordering from your establishment again. You have lost a valuable customer today. Happy New Year.”
