Rocco’s is a total delight, from the food to the atmosphere and people. Hands down one of my favorite pizza places in all of my travels (which is a lot), and if I could come here once a week, I would.
The pizza is just the way pizza is meant to be. We had the Mary Ann, which was the right combination of crispy classic pepperoni pizza and challenging kick of spice from chili peppers. Cold local beers did their part to offset the heat – chilis and weather.
Rocco’s is family owned and they deeply care about their pizza and customers. We met them all throughout the evening. When we arrived, the place was packed and live music filling the rest of the small space. I had a headache, was hot and on my way to irritable. But Momma Rocco (Mary Ann) and Yvonne Rocco made sure we somehow got seated and had drinks fairly quickly. Our pizza arrived surprisingly fast for how busy they were, and it was straight out of the oven.
Every night there is live music and Sunday’s duo was wonderful. From what I understand, these particular guys play every Sunday.

This place is awesome! Mama Rocco is super attentive and sweet. The pizza is not to be missed if you are on the big Island. Also, they have the best craft beer selection I’ve seen on the island. If you like IPAs, go here.

Specs of basil and huge thick slices of tomato. Who makes these decisions? I went here when I read in a ad that it was the best pizza on the island. I haven’t tried any other pizza but I hope that’s not the case. I don’t know if it was the sauce or dough but the pizza was very very salty. I think it’s meant to be Sicilian style which may be very salty, im not sure. $17 for a 15 inch large and $2 for each additional topping. If you ask me that’s 1 inch below the 16 inch standard for most pizza places and it was a couple bucks more than average. I understand food may be a bit more expensive on the island but why give less food and charge more. Why hit the customer with both attempts to increase profit. why not choose one and have a satisfied customer? Also obviously %95 bar and %5 pizza shop. Don’t know why I didn’t just walk away, maybe cause of the false info I received from that magazine. Anyway for bar food this place is ok.

Get the SoCal pizza and add pineapple. That and a lavender mai tai makes for the perfect meal. Great choices in ambient music and fun, friendly, fantastic, and focused waitstaff.

This place is way off the beaten path unless you live nearby. Had heard great things about this place especially the lobster pizza. Unfortunately it wasn’t available the night we went. The pizza we had was just so so. However, the service is almost non existent. Took forever to order and was advised by several other people to go inside and order. Which I tried but after waiting for ages, I finally gave up and went back to the table. Took more than an hour to get an order in. Same for the other three tables around us. At the end of the evening we had to track down someone to get our bill. Honestly, if there was better service, we would have ordered more drinks and probably more food as the pizza wasn’t enough for us. But the thought of waiting another hour to just order was too much.
On a good note: the live music was great. The duo with the younger singer, Matt, made the evening and the wait more enjoyable.

The family seems nice that owns it/works there, and the pizza is pretty tasty. Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 is because my kid got a pepperoni and sausage kids pizza for $8.50 and I ordered their smallest 9″ pizza with limited toppings and it cost $21 and was the exact same size as my son’s kids pizza. Also I got a coke and didn’t know until I saw the receipt that it cost $4 plus $1 for each refill. I know they’re trying to do business on the big island and that’s hard but the prices are just too high.

Fantastic little spot right off the highway. Great mix of locals and visitors. We went there after spending the morning at two step snorkeling. The pizza was great and the cheesecake was absolutely phenomenal! When we went it was cash only so come prepared just in case. If not, there’s an atm on site and another a short distance down the road if that one is out of service

Wow! Cannot have dairy and Rocco brought me a local mushroom base pizza. The pizza is cooked perfect with a bit of crunch (seriously the best way). The flavors are so relaxing and inviting!
I am not a cocktail and especially not Mai Thai person but their lavender Mai Thai is legit. Complex and spicy and not sweet!
The owners are so considerate and made the evening
