Overall – yep 5-stars which means we would be back when visiting Newport. Not a large place but the flavors and service were great. Ok so a little hot of a breakdown:
1. Food quality – having been pizzeria owners in UT and feeling like our garlic kjots were pretty awesome we get a bit picky when it comes to knots. ROCCOS did awesome. Fresh garlic – nicely proofed before par cooking and just enough cook time to brown the tops but keep the fluff. Marinara sauce was wonderful and with the fresh parsley and garlic and olive oil mixed it was a fantastic start to the meal
Antipasto salad was loaded with it all. Small salad was huge. The blue cheese dressing was sub par but I’m partial to my Grandmas recipe.
The pizza was more traditional crust – so not a Neapolitan style but done well. Love the crust and sauce flavors. Not too bold but bold enough. Loved the lasagna pizza and we did Florentine on the other half. Good white sauce and not too cheesy.
2. Server – really polite young man. Not a ton of charisma but super helpful kind and prompt. Was good to engage with and complimented a great meal.
Only thing I’d suggest is a little more cleanliness to help the local atmosphere. Nice job to Rocco’s.

My new favorite pizza spot. Incredibly attentive and kind staff. The new owners seem fantastic and friendly. The food was served quickly and was BOMB. Best chicken cutlet I’ve had in forever. Very welcoming and family friendly atmosphere. Will be back again (Probably this week). Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great local bite.

Best New York style pizza on the island! This was our favorite pizza place when we lived here 14 years ago and AGAIN now as we moved back! Food is always hot and delicious and the staff is always kind and friendly! Highly recommend the large pepperoni pizza, garlic knots, and side salad! The salad is always fresh and loaded and enough to share!

This place is a GEM!!!! Did the Newport Rail Explorers Ride with my family last night and we were looking for a good, warm meal beforehand from a local kitchen. The reviews here did not lie. We had a party of 8, which can be a lot, but the server was SO attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, and polite. He provided great recs for both food and drink in a timely and professional manner. We ordered a TON of food; pizzas, calzones, wraps, salads, fries, apps…and everything was absolutely amazing. The garlic knots are also beyond delicious and ready as soon as you sit down. The lasagna pizza was so good, that I had to have another slice in the car on the way home. Prices are super reasonable for portion sizes, and the kitchen did not leave us waiting for the food. My family is old school Italian, and everyone loved it!!! Real Italian cooking! A must if you are in the Newport, or even Fall River area!

We have been regular customers of Rocco’s for years. We tried the place now that it is under new ownership. We had garlic knots, Caesar salad and a meat lovers pizza. We enjoyed our meal. The garlic knots could have used more garlic. The pizza was delicious. We will be returning customers.

So sad! Loved going to Rocco’s it was my NY fix for New England pizza. We went there over the summer not realizing it was under new ownership and everyone in my family commented on the dough. It’s def not the same. Today I was driving home and smelled the pizza and was like what on earth is going on….are they under new ownership? sadly all of my questions were confirmed. Where did my guy from smithtown go? I hope he is still up here and didn’t flee the cold winter months for Florida. I am heartbroken because a Portsmouth Gem isnt my gem anymore

Wow! Outstanding. The pizza was delicious (try the lasagna pizza – that ricotta cheese is the perfect touch), as was the spaghetti and meatballs. But most significant of all was the service. We were traveling so we wanted to dine in. Although a take-out pizza shop they were happy to accommodate us and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of from ordering to departing. The take-out traffic was constant but every customer was greeted and received a thank you upon leaving. The owner and staff were all personable and kind. We made a great decision to try this mom & pop pizza shop!!

Delicious freshly made pizza. Great flavors. Especially BBQ chicken pizza. Great service. While waiting for my pizza to be ready, an old man came in looking for his take out order. He was confused and had a hard time remembering what his order was. The cashier waiting on him had amazing patience and kindness. Really so wonderful to see !!

Still the best pizza on the island. Last time we were here was about 2 years ago. Since then they stopped table service, so it’s all order at the register and they bring the food to you on disposable plates and plastic ware, but like I said the food is still amazing. We had 2 small salads and a small half veggie half meat pizza. The place seats about 24 people inside, and 8 outside. It is away from the newport touristic area making it a very nice hole in the wall local favorite. I would come here everytime I visit. Lastly, don’t get this place confused with the other Roccos. Used to be different owners and this one is much better.
