I held my sister’s bridal shower at Roc and Olive and the experience was great. Everyone was so nice, helpful, and accommodating during the process. The semi private area was cute and elegant and the food was delicious. I would definitely hold another event at this restaurant

I had high hopes for this spot because our appetizers were so good but I just can’t imagine coming back. I came here with some girl friends to catch up and we were one of the last parties to leave because we got there around 8, and service was a bit slow. As we were leaving the bartender and some staff clapped on our way out. It made use feel super uncomfortable as we didn’t feel we had done anything crazy and definitely understood the restaurant industry is tough. But celebrating as people are leaving who just paid a $100+ bill is pretty low. entrees we’re lackluster and I had to actually use my salt shaker. Only thing that saved the experience was the good company.

Drinks were terrible. I think they forgot to put any seasoning in my Bourbon chicken pasta. It was just a sweet watery cream with a clump of minced garlic in the middle with chicken and pasta. The dessert tasted like the refridgerator. It was subpar service from beginning to end. Here’s the kicker… there were small pieces of broken glass chips on the rim of our beer glass! Had to tell the waitress that the manager should be aware of it. The manager didn’t seem very concerned about it but they gave us a discount on our bill. I’ve never experienced anything like this before. Only good thing was the live entertainment.

Took a friend out for dinner last night after a drink at Allegria hotel bar where we met a guy who knew the owner and completely raved about the place. I have been to this establishment several times before it became Roc & Olive and usually at the bar for drinks, and only once ordered mussels which were horrible then. We decided to share a paella as entree and ordered a couple of appetizers. The waitress said they weren’t serving paella. We said that was disappointing and one of the reasons we came there. She said, ok let me double check. She came back and said, they are serving Paella. Not sure what was happening. We asked if they served bread, she said yes, but bread never came. We asked the busboy same question for bread, he said yes. Bread never came. We asked the girl who brought our appetizers if they had bread she said yes. Bread never came. As for drinks, saw the Aperol spritz on menu, asked if they had mint-to make a Hugo spritz (a more popular similar drink right now). Waitress said no. But when we ordered dessert it came decorated with mint. The aperol was too sweet (somehow)- so I watered it down. Water was warm asked for ice several times. As for the food, apps were very good, the Paella was good but most of the mussels were completely dried out and crusty and lobster a tad overdone. The waitress and busboy were were very nice and very accommodating, but the entire experience was bizarre. I live in Island Park and we have great restaurants there- and there are also great restaurants in LB. For this place- the front of the house and the back of the house- need better communication- and less dried out seafood, especially when they are surrounded by so much better

The salmon and pork chop were both cooked PERFECTLY – and we are super picky about restaurant food. The Brussels sprouts were delicious as usual. The Pretzel with Brie and fig jam is always so good. Thank you!
