We have been many times for takeout but felt like we would like to explore their Taco Tuesday Taco Bar. At $20 a person we felt like it was well worth it. Tacos are made to order, with a bar for all the toppings, as well as sides. They also have pozole if you want more options besides the tacos. My favorites were the Cabeza, Pastor, and Carnitas, but they had Chicken and Steak as well. For two people with an Horchata it came to $45, and we walked away Happy. We are definitely going to come back for the weekend breakfast buffet at some point soon.

I had a disappointing experience at the restaurant. The server was unhelpful, offering no greeting or farewell, which set the tone for my visit. I ordered a cheese enchilada with beans and rice, but they used a flour tortilla—definitely not my preference. As it was a to-go order, I felt stuck with something I didn’t enjoy.
To top it off, the food presentation was lackluster, with the red sauce spilling over in the bag, making a mess in my car due to a small hole. On the brighter side, the restaurant itself was clean and quiet, with only one other table occupied. However, the parking situation left much to be desired. The shopping center had several shops, but there were not enough parking spaces to accommodate them.
Overall, I didn’t find anything special about the place, and I likely wouldn’t return given that the average cost is around $30 per person.

So far I have only been here once but I will for sure be returning when I can! I consider Roberta’s to be an “authentic” Mexican restaurant, for the inside of the place and menu reflects this greatly. The only time I’ve eaten from here I’ve done takeout, the man who took my ordered was helpful and made sure to keep me posted on how my foods doing. All the decorations and the way the inside is designs give the place a home like feeling for a better dining experience. I ordered enchiladas with green sauce served with rice and refried beans, it was all very delicious especially the beans and rice. I definitely recommend this to anybody looking for some delicious Mexican food.

In a word: value. The newly created buffet provides a great variety of Mexican dishes, such as menudo, pozole and tortilla soup! I love choosing the different options and tasting Mexican dishes that I would normally not choose from the regular menu, which, by the way is still an option. The brunch buffet is available on Saturday and Sunday only. The service was excellent and the waitress kept our glasses filled with the bottomless mimosas! Yummy is the last word. I will be visiting this restaurant way more often!

The search for great Mexican cuisine in Sacramento led me to Roberta’s cocina. The restaurant was recommended by a couple we met at a local dig.
We were not disappointed. Just a small family owned restaurant. The menu is quite extensive.
On this day I ordered the al mojo de ajo Camarones (garlic shrimp). The shrimp were moist and juicy, not overcooked. The sauce tasted like butter, mixed with sliced chilli peppers and garlic slices. They accented the shrimp perfectly. There was a small salad with avocado, lettuce and tomatoes, to be used with the flour tortillas I ordered (corn tortillas are also offered). Mexican rice was also moist and fluffy. The beans were creamy and not lumpy. All was delicious. I also ordered two chico (small) tacos. Al pastor and the other carnitas. They were served Todo (with everything). Salsa, onions, and cilantro. The meat was tender. The carnitas in particular were moist and crunchy with just enough salt seasoning for me.
A great place to stop for lunch. They also offer a weekend brunch buffet
Weekend brunch time. Bring your appetite mojo with you. Very nice variety of dishes, fajitas, chilli relleno, chilli Colorado, chilli Verde, bacon @ sausage, chorizo and carnitas, three types of soups, menudo, abogondas, pozole, salad bar, custom egg omelets or other styles, freshly made corn or flour tortillas, drinks offered, Mexican style coffee with cinnamon, horchata and hibiscus juice. Flan and Mexican style gelatin for dessert. Yum. So much food to choose from.

While on a business trip in Sacramento, we searched for Mexican food and found Roberta’s Cocina Mexicana, which has a 4-Star rating and thought we’d give it a try. It was nearby and had good reviews. Parking was a bit hard to find due to the fact the location is in a shopping center.
We ordered the Carnitas Plate, a Quesadilla de Asada plate and a Birria Plate. The chip salsa was bland at best but we then asked for hotter sauce. They brought us three different hot sauces and they were really good and really spicy at the same time. The food was good too but I feel the portions are too small for the price. Be ready to spend about $25-$30 per person on the lower end

I been coming here for years now, they finally got a good cook again, I am happy to be back and I have been here long enough to see things are getting back to normal. I being trying their menu and so far is been great. The food in some cases look simple, but the food is delicious and very tasty. The Birria de Chivo is delicious, very tasty by itself, no salsa is needed, unless you want spicy. The green and red sauce are a great addition to any plate. The Shrimp Cocktail comes ready, a little different compare to other restaurant, but very good. The chips and salsa are perfect.
I’m here today again trying something new!!!
Come check this place out, good cooks!!

I have been coming here for 2 years and this is probably the last time visiting. Went here Saturday 10/25/2025 and service was not the best but also not the worst. Ordered enchiladas poblanos with chips and the rice was very watery. The beans had a weird aftertaste and was slimy. The enchiladas had little mole and the cheese was awful and a lot of spoiled tomatoes. Besides the food the inside smelled and place was kinda dirty. They even charged me $5 for salsa and the enchiladas were $30 with tax. And parking is very difficult.

Stopped in here while doing errands in the shopping center. First time. Ordered a carne asada traditional burrito that was about $14 after tax.
Instantly disappointed. The meat had the texture of shredded tires and yoga mat. Sinewy, rubbery, bleh. Overpriced dog food.
Massive burrito, so I suppose that’s the price you pay. I ate about half before throwing it in the trash. I got diarrhea about an hour afterwards.
Don’t go here. Drive the few minutes down the road to Oscar’s or Lalo’s.

Picked up for dinner and was not impressed. The pozole consisted of inedible bone and fat. I understand it’s later in the day but if there’s not meat left to serve your customers take it off the menu. I also tried a “Que-kas” the shell was super chewy and doulike on the inside, and like the pozole lacked meat. Only thing really edible we got were the beans.
