Local , small Japanese eatery. Excellent food at reasonable prices. Ordered octopus salad, 3 rolls and chicken katsu curry, which were all quite tasty. Have a nice sized patio for nice weather days. Will be back!

First time to Robata and it was great! We ordered two sushi rolls, raman, and gyu don (a rice bowl with beef). They were all so delicious! Our waitress was very attentive and had good food suggestions. Can’t wait to come back and try other menu items! The place is small and quaint so if you have a larger party, I would recommend calling ahead.

Delicious. Small little place with an upscale feel. Giant menu with so many options. Great to munch on as you do. Outdoor seating if you’ve got a big group is the way to go, just a few of you pull up to the bar and watch the chefs work their magic. Or order online and drive through to pick up your food. We will be returning.

Small but cute space. Our host greet us promptly and water on our table. We received our food quickly. My husband ordered ramen and was a bit salty, my $20 sushi dinner came out but was not impressive. Overall, it is not bad, I maybe try again later.

Flavorful and delicious. Food is fresh and they have generous portion sizes. Quaint, small eatery with a small bar. Great for quick bites.

A good spot for sushi in Maplewood! I sat on the patio and it was very nice. We ordered two sushi rolls, and a few appetizers. The Kara-age (spicy fried chicken) was my favorite thing I ordered. The server was new but really tentative and she helped me choose what to order. Next time I’d like to try the ramen since I’ve heard it’s good!

Delicious! Our first time but we will definitely be back. Apparently there is some confusion with the location since they recently moved, but it’s in the same spot as Han Lao Market, easy enough to find though!

We have eaten at Robata multiple times. Most of our experiences have been delicious (4/5), but tonight was not one of those nights. I’m not sure if this was an off-night or if something has changed since we last visited, but our food was just bad.
Gyudon is my go-to at any Japanese restaurant, including past visits at Robata. What I ate tonight was not Gyudon. The flavor was awful (no sweetness at all), the texture of the meat was mushy, the smell was off. I only ate a few bites before I had to stop because something was clearly wrong. I’m hoping this batch of marinade was just mixed incorrectly and the meat was just broken down too much, but my stomach has not been happy since we left. Along with the off-putting flavor and meat, there also weren’t any slices of onion like there’s meant to be in a solid bowl of Gyudon.
My husband had the Tonkotsu ramen and said the broth was super bland, which was also surprising since we’ve had great ramen here before. He tried to eat my gyudon after because we hate wasting food, but he couldn’t do more than a couple bites either.
All that said, the pork gyoza were fantastic, so at least there’s that!

Used to be some of the best ramen. Unfortunately, the past year I’ve gotten it a few times and it’s been SO SALTY I couldn’t even finish it. Super disappointed how it’s gone downhill.
