Tiny lil spot tucked away in Corpus, great vibe and undoubtedly some of the freshest and tastiest sushi I have ever eaten. They are on the come up…go support and enjoy. They do get busy however in peak hours, so get there early!!!

Oh, what a delightful fusion feast at Roaming Ronin in Corpus Christi! Tucked away on Airline Road, this gem blends Japanese flair with Texas boldness—think fresh sushi rolls bursting with local seafood and inventive stir-fries that dance on the palate. My spicy tuna roll was a crispy, flavorful masterpiece, paired perfectly with their savory ramen in a rich, umami-packed broth. The ambiance? Cozy and modern, with friendly staff who treat you like family. Chef Eddie Warren’s Southeast Asian inspirations shine through every bite. At affordable prices, it’s a must-visit for foodies craving adventure. Five stars—I’ll be roaming back soon!

We had a wonderful experience tonight. Our Waitress Julyssa made sure we had everything we needed and took very good care of us! The food was amazing and it was our first time here. We will be Back!

The restaurant dining room is kind of small but cozy. The was one server/hostess working. The ronin beef bowl was decent but not worth the price. The meat was kind of mushy and the rice was very microwave type rice. My son had the same dish and had similar feedback. The spicy tuna roll was good and probably saved the meal. My daughter had the California roll and did not finish it because of the rice texture. I personally don’t feel it’s worth the price but there are other items on the menu worth trying.

Worst restaurant, environment & food I have ever experienced in Corpus Christi. We waited 25 min for food and we were the only people in the restaurant. Food came out COLD. I ordered a beef bowl with rice. I took one look at my food and thought this doesn’t look hot. Took one bite only to confirm it was cold. Like not even slightly warm. My rice was stale. We did not eat our food. But more than the food being cold I was put off by what we witnessed while waiting for our food. There was an older gentleman in a cowboy hat that came out from the kitchen in regular clothes, standing very closely to one young waitress there. Talking closely, just being very flirty. Looked like he was just talking about nothing, joking about rabdom things behind the counter. But also standing very close, almost as if he was using the work place conversation as an excuse to get close to thsi waitress. It rubbed me the wrong way. Especially because our table was maybe 10 ft away and I was with my two older daughters (15 & 11). Really grossed me out…then to receive my food the way we did. I just couldn’t give my money to this restaurant. We canceled everything that I ordered & ordered togo. I really hope that these young waitress dont feel like they HAVE to work there. As a mom, I would not want to know or see my daughters being treated that way in any environment.

What an amazing place to eat the food was fantastic. The fish tasted absolutely fresh and the service was like family. I would say the atmosphere was excellent. The chef communicated with me like as if I was family explaining to me the process of how to make sushi, I will definitely be returning.

My new favorite spot, never have to worry about it being good one day and average or poor the next, they are always on point. Staff is friendly and they always have great recommendations. Sushi is fresh and the Ramen bowls are some of the best you will ever have in Corpus.

The miso soup was very good and the sushi was delicious too. These other aspects really ruined it for us though.

The bar seating had no sneeze guard or partition between the seating area and the area where they make the sushi. Leaving it open to any potential contamination.

The sushi chef kept touching everything with the same gloved hands he was using for make the sushi which basically defeats the purpose of wearing them in the first place. I’m sure this happens at restaurants behind kitchen doors all the time but it was rough having to watch it happen.

Service was really lacking and pretty awkward. From our table we could see our waitress constantly on her phone while we waited for food and then for our check. It’s probably not a place I would bring any kids based on the wait staff dress code.

I would call Roaming Ronin the perfect well-kept sushi secret of Corpus Christi and the selfish part of me wants to keep it a secret for myself, but on my good conscience I simply can’t. You have to try Roaming Ronin!!!! From the atmosphere, the friendly staff, down to the best sushi I’ve had— Roaming Ronin is a MUST try for ANYONE in Corpus who loves sushi and appreciates the extra efforts of a small veteran-owned business. They CARE about your experience and they listen. Not only were we taken care of but we were made to feel so welcome and had such a great experience. I cannot recommend Chef Eddie or his attentive staff enough. And I’ll just let the food speak for itself, because if you love sushi I know you don’t need me to tell you. Walk in with an open mind and an empty stomach, and you will not be disappointed.

My wife and I just went in for our first time for our anniversary, and let me telllllll you. The experience was all around amazing. The staff were personable, extremely welcoming and just had a genuine vibe about them. Conversation didn’t feel forced and we had a lot of laughs with them. It was such a cool experience to watch our food be literally prepared in front of us, to have the Chef’s special as a surprise roll even to us. It was exciting to see him experiment and enjoy his craft as he freshly made and even NAMED a new roll for my wife and I (Which our server, Jenna, was so kind enough to write down the exact recipe down for us). The food, the drinks, the atmosphere, and just simply the vibe itself are all there and they’ve officially made complete fans out of us. The only complaint I could have is that they’ve been there for two years and I had no idea until tonight, with their location being a literal hidden gem. WILL be returning time and time again and I recommend anyone reading this do the same.
