Talk about an unexpected surprise. The Italian beef was the best I’ve had in ages with a fantastically seasoned au jus sauce. The garlic fries were great and the home made ranch was perfect with them. My wife got the fish and chips, also with the garlic fries and the fish pieces were actually enormous. Not all batter like a lot of places do, actual large pieces of fish. This will be a go to stop anytime I’m headed towards or away from Chicago in the truck.

Beautiful restaurant with a full bar,open kitchen and nice dining area. Nice menu but a little pricy for a truck stop. $17 burgers is a little much. I will say this, though: that was the best patty melt I’ve ever had! Cooked perfectly, nice char flavor on crispy rye with American Swiss and grilled onions. Mmm Was heart clogging heaven. So maybe the price on those burgers is worth it!

This was such a pleasant surprise! Marnel was our excellent server! So helpful and friendly. Dawn also stopped to check on how we were doing. Our family of three enjoyed the breakfast choices. Our son chose an entree since he’s not a breakfast guy. They give huge portions. The Roadhouse Grill was clean and aesthetically pleasing. We will come back on our way back home. It is located in the Compass Travel Center. All connected. Side note, if you are Balkan or Eastern European, you will love the menu with cevapi, sopska salata and pljesavica, lepinje i kajmak! Svaka cast!

Stopped here after picking up our family that arrived from Maine. The food was incredible. Our waitress, Jamie,was excellent. She anticipated our needs. She was very friendly. The hostess also welcomed us with a smile. The restaurant was extremely clean as were the restrooms which we visited with the kids a few times. We all left with take home boxes! Great place to stop.

Quite dissapointed with my first visit here. Definately not coming back. It had a nice atmosphere but it is new. It better look good. I ordered the country fried steak. It was good and hot but everything else on the plate was cold. My partner’s food was cold as well and she found some string-like material in the eggs. When I told the server about it, I got the most ingenuous “I’m sorry” that I ever heard. She is young and she gave the “I know it all’ vibes. I can see why the place was pretty empty, which surprised me, as I believed it would become a popular facility. This breakfast cost me more than lunch.
