My favorite sushi spot in the whole Bay Area. That’s incredible how much food (really fresh and flavorful) you get for the prices they have. The service is always friendly and quick. We normally just walk in and get a table but on weekends dinner time there could be a wait(20-30 min). After discovering this spot a couple of years ago we always eager to cross the bridge to have the best sushi in a non pretentious atmosphere.

I really like the food at this place. The sushi is yummy (if you like lots of sauce and Americanized sushi, which I do.) However, the rolls can be pretty expensive, and sometimes too large/ full of rice for my liking. Also the restaurants interior is a little out dated and uninviting. Street parking on Piedmont can be a challenge, but there’s a paid lot nearby.

Impressed! This place is an all around good choice. Delicious sushi that is clearly fresh and made with care. If you like spicy food, try the volcano roll. It’s a stuffed jalapeño . The miso soup was so good it is noteworthy. The place is comfortable and the outdoor area is cute. Extra points for being dog friendly. Most definitely will come back.

This is one of the great sushi place on Piedmont Ave in Oakland California. They have inside dining and also outdoor behind like a backyard of the house. Server is friendly and efficient but I high recommend their food which is fresh, tasty and good portion. Sashimi is excellent, thick pieces and absolutely no fishy smell. They are popular and busy. I put my name on their waiting list and was told about 25 minutes and it’s worth to wait.

Always delicious. Served with a smile. Their prices have gone way up. 19 for a sushi roll is high but the rolls are to die for. Perfect service. Clean restaurant. Definitely try this place. Watch out for the hours! Closed mid day.

RnR Sushi & Bowls is a nice Japanese restaurant to visit if you’re in the Oakland area. The fish was fresh, the service was friendly, and prices are reasonable. The sushi was attractively presented and there were a large variety of rolls to choose from ranging from rolls you’d find at most sushi restaurants (such as Cherry Blossom) to rolls unique to the restaurant. You’ll find all the usual fish you’d see at most restaurants such as tuna, salmon, and hamachi – if you’re looking for something like escolar, scallops, or amaebi, I don’t think it’s on the menu. Push comes to shove, you could always ask, you never know. As for the cooked food, the tempura is pretty good. It’s lightly, crispy, and I like how the batter is not thick.
The restaurant is fairly narrow, so you may find yourself sitting quite close to another table. There is also outdoor seating on a back patio if you don’t feel comfortable dining indoors. As for the service, it’s friendly, although not super fast. They do give every table a carafe of water, so you won’t need to hassle anyone for refills often. Overall, it’s a decent restaurant to stop by if in the area.

Evidently this is my daughter’s favorite sushi spot and I can’t believe that it was my first time there. Truly delicious food! The Alameda Roll has all of my favorites—salmon, tuna and unagi, plus snow crab! I asked for it spicy and they totally hit the spice mark. Very filling and very reasonably priced. RnR is a neighborhood gem and I’m very surprised that I hadn’t bothered to eat there before. It appears as a hole in the wall restaurant however, it totally delivers. Efficient service, happy staff, really good vibes. A true neighborhood keeper.
Cheers!

The servers are very friendly. The place itself feels a bit cramped and cold. The Ichiban roll is stellar with lots of hamachi. The chicken udon also good. The pork katsu curry is okay. I wish the katsu is less salty and there is more curry. The tonkatsu looks pretty good. The side salad is quite big.

Huge selection of Japanese dishes, from appetizers and poke and rice bowls, to elaborate sushi rolls and sashimi. I had the spicy salmon poke bowl with real snow crab, which was fantastic. The “tacos” were also fun and tasty, and I enjoyed the hot sake to boot. Great spot for a nice variety that will satisfy all sorts of cravings.

I like this restaurant, it has really fresh food and so many choices. The choices meet the whole family’s needs. Definitely return. The roadside parking is cheap, and is free after 6PM. Surround businesses didn’t see the iron fence, means the nearby is relatively safe.
