Social Profile:

Tucked away in the imperial plaza, step into a sophisticated, vintage cocktail bar inspired by 1938, offering some of the finest craft cocktails on the island—and Waikiki’s most extensive whiskey and cigar selection. The interior design is heavily inspired by Kevin Aoki’s travels through Southeast Asia, tastefully creating the special ambiance of RM 38. Our cocktails use premium spirits and have complex flavors meticulously designed to make the perfect drink for you. As you enter you will be met by an unassuming Pawn Shop, but don’t be fooled, you may be asked for a secret code.

Had an amazing experience at RM.38.

The service was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Our waitress, Lady, was awesome—friendly, attentive, and on point all night. Weston knows how to make a drink – every cocktail was perfectly crafted and hit just right. And Curtis was equally awesome and made the whole experience even better.

The drinks were fantastic, and the food was a complete knockout – easily one of the best meals we’ve had in Waikiki. Everything came out flavorful, well-prepared, and clearly made with care.

If you’re looking for great vibes, top-tier service, and food that delivers, RM.38 is a must. We’ll definitely be back.

Drinks to recommend:
– 38 Old fashioned
– Mai Tai
– Broken Record

I have found my new favorite cocktail bar in Waikiki! They have by far the best Mai Tai and Old Fashioned cocktails that I have had on the islands. Both Stuart and Rachael were great bartenders for us. Our drinks came out quickly and the Truffle Popcorn was fresh and a great small bite.

When the sun goes down, this is a great place to kick back and relax with some great beverages in a wonderfully fun atmosphere. Grab a small table in one of the many corners with your friends.

Stumbled on this literal hidden gem. Wanted to smoke a cigar and have a drink late at night. Service was amazing. Server personally laid out the cigar selection for me, showed me to the back, and even asked what music I wanted played. Smoking is only outside. The bar itself has a small, fun, and intimate vibe. Definitely going to bring a group here. 10/10 spot

Maybe the best place we’ve been to in Waikiki!! Unreal atmosphere. I almost don’t want to send a review because being unknown is probably why our experience was so good. It’s very similar to a speakeasy which made it quaint. On top of that the cocktails and small bites were incredible. Highly recommend for a late night or pre dinner spot!

You won’t find a better, more attentive staff anywhere in Waikiki. This has been a favorite spot on every visit but especially this trip I found myself ending up here more nights than not. Even when they’re slammed they make you feel taken care of. From Chris smiling and welcoming you in, to each one of the bartenders (Ellie and Lady especially!) checking in on you, they’re all top notch. The drinks are on the sweet side but that’s fine by me in Waikiki. Great cocktails / whiskey selection, great people, great atmosphere.

Fantastic all around. Warm attentive service, amazing ambience, yummy mocktails and cocktails, and super good tofu. Highly highly recommend for an evening out! We made reservations easily online and are already planning when we want to come back. We did Valet at Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki, went to RM. 38, went to Yard House after and got dessert and validated the parking, and then only paid $8 for 4 hours of parking. Add this place to your next night out in Waikiki!

Regardless of whether you’re a speakeasy fan, this one is a must-visit. Excellent small bites, excellent cocktails, excellent music, and beyond-excellent service. Since it’s a 10-min walk for me, I decided to treat myself to a pretty reasonable selection of what was on offer, and not a single item disappointed. Among the cocktails I tried, the 38 Old Fashioned was my favorite, given my bias for them, but the rest were great too. Out of the small bites I tried, the spicy crispy ahi was my favorite, with the taro chips and mascarpone being a close second. The amazing oldies music added to the vibe and made the experience that much more enjoyable. And last, but definitely not least, the service was fantastic. Curtis, Stewart and Ely were very friendly and made me feel welcome. Curtis was very welcoming and attentive. Stewart was happy to share recommendations. And upon sharing my love for anything by Frank Sinatra, Ely was able to set the music accordingly, and that made my evening. Thank you! I look forward to my next visit.
