The first time for the 6 of us. Beautiful lobby and the Rix restaurant is on the third floor which is part inside and part outside. Very comfortable and chic with views to the outside. Service was wonderful by Kelly and very upbeat. Everything we had was delicious. Calamari, beet salad, short ribs, scallops, cioppino special, walleye and lamb kofta. We all would definitely go again. Oh, and they have a new chef who is wonderful!

We hosted an event at The Rix and couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. From start to finish, myself and our entire family were beyond pleased with the space, the communication, and the overall service. Everything was seamless and stress-free.

A huge shoutout to Kelli, our server — she was absolutely amazing. Attentive, upbeat, and on top of everything the whole night. She truly elevated the experience and made everyone feel taken care of.

Planning and scheduling with Brooke was just as wonderful. She was organized, responsive, and so easy to work with, which made the entire process smooth and enjoyable.

Highly recommend The Rix for hosting events — we’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I went to Rix for dinner last night. It was 75 and sunny in mid March in Michigan (never seen that before) so we jumped on the chance to do a date night at a new spot! Rix didn’t disappoint. We sat at the bar along that looked out onto the river. They had the garage door or window opened up so it felt like we were sitting outside. It was awesome.

My wife got a cab to drink- decent pour.

We started with the elote hummus- not bad at all- a little bland, but plated well and lots of dipping vessels.

I got a Caesar with chicken- chicken was awesome and I enjoyed the anchovies and poached eggs- great touch.

My wife got the chef’s board- she really liked it. One of the cheeses was a vanilla bean and bourbon cheese from Wisconsin- super unique and delicious.

All said- a great night with good food and a fun atmosphere. Worth checking out!

Very much enjoyed our first visit to Rix tonight! There is a lot to like about this newer upscale restaurant on the 3rd floor of the Ada Hotel.
The most important part, the food, was excellent. We started with the Truffle Fries which we thought might be overpriced. However, it was a large portion and definitely worth the splurge. The Michigan Walleye was perfectly cooked with a nice crispy sear, and the sweet corn/garlic spinach was a delicious accompaniment. The only critique of this dish is the full garlic cloves probably aren’t necessary. The Braised Short Rib was also really good, as were the cheese grits on the side. I think the meat portion was pretty small though compared to similar dishes I’ve had elsewhere, and the brussels were undercooked. Overall though all the food was excellent.
The wine prices are on the steep side for the pour size (see pictures for the full “glass” you get). The cocktails are good though, only a couple bucks more than average.
The ambiance is very high end, the chairs are very comfortable – this is the type of place you could hangout awhile in.
Lastly the service – we visited on a slow night and everything was efficient but not pushy.
Definitely recommend Rix for an upscale meal if you’re willing to foot the bill, we will be back again someday!

A charming atmosphere and the food is *decent*, but overall, it left me underwhelmed. While the dishes we ordered had good flavor, the portion sizes were disappointingly small for the price point. The cocktails looked great on the menu, but once the bill came, I had a little sticker shock. Not quite the value I was hoping for. Might be worth a try if you’re looking for an upscale night out, but be ready to splurge for not much substance.

We tried Rix for the first time tonight. Ordered 3 apps and 1 entree to share.

Calamari – a little soggy and not very flavorful. 4/10
Duck wings – great taste. But pricey for just 3 pieces. 2 ounces of meat for 20 bucks is just not the move.
Truffle fries – 8/10. Pretty solid no complaints.

The disappointment of the evening was the walleye. It was maybe 5 ounces. Absolutely abominable portion and completely bland – I understand (and enjoy) upscale dining but not to have an expensive dish and a tasteless one. The ambience is good but the service was slow. We will most certainly not be returning.

The atmosphere and service at Rix are great as well as the drinks. The food however is very underwhelming especially for the price. Several people in our group got the French onion soup (on special for the night), it came out in a cereal bowl half full and was not very hot at all with a slice of cheese barely melted. Others got the short ribs and they were dry and not falling apart as you would expect. One person’s short rib was mostly fat which was replaced very quickly (again, great service). The brussel sprouts that came with the short ribs were under cooked and lacked flavor. For such impeccable service and higher prices our group left less than satisfied and wishing the food was of the same caliber.

Rix has so much potential – beautiful ambiance, great location. Love the rooftop option and we booked a larger table for a birthday celebration last weekend. The service was fine and drinks were good, but the food left much to be desired. Chicken was dry, walleye was very bland, and short ribs seemed like they were cooked days before and just microwaved. At the price point, we had higher expectations. You’re much better off going to The Post downstairs where the food is excellent every time!

✨ Hidden gem alert! Nestled inside a cute hotel, Rix is a whole vibe. You can take the stairs or hop the elevator to the top floor, where you’re greeted with a stunning, airy space—both indoor and outdoor seating options that feel elevated and cozy at the same time.

The staff? 10/10. So friendly, genuinely kind, and full of great recs. We felt taken care of the entire night.

Drinks:
– Pinot Grigio – crisp and light
– N/A Spritz – refreshing and cute
– La Pera Fumar – such a standout! Balanced, spicy, and sooo satisfying.

Food:
– Rix House Pulled Burrata – served with pita, cherry tomatoes, and balsamic. Melt-in-your-mouth fresh. My friends devoured it. Literally licked the bowl clean.
– Grilled Otto’s Chicken – one word, yum!
– Baked Spaghetti Squash – made dietary free for me! and you couldn’t even tell that the bolognese was made of veggies. It was unexpectedly rich and flavorful. I need that dish again.

Not sure who left the bad reviews, but we had an amazing time. Good food, great service, and such a cute spot to post up.
Would absolutely go again and bring more friends next time.

One of the best restaurants in Ada. Every single thing we ate was a 10 and our drinks were all very wonderful. They even had a good mocktail selection as well. We got the burrata to start and it was lovely. Then I had the chicken for dinner and the flavors all worked so well together. I will be dreaming of the chicken until I come back again!
