Stopped by the Riverton General Store after a hike looking for a sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised by the establishment. There were two employees both of whom were entirely pleasant and happy to help. The sandwiches were made to order and they were speedy without rushing. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside and it was quite nice. There’s a good selection of drinks and snack and dessert options. I’ll be back.

Took my 91 year old Mom and her 84 year old friend out for their birthdays, stopped here for lunch. They both got grilled cheese sandwiches and pronounced them the best they’ve ever eaten! I had tuna salad, also yummy. The staff and the atmosphere were very nice, a great small town feeling. I’ll bring them back the next time I visit Connecticut. Thanks!
