Reviews
Tucked away in a spot with serious personality—complete with vibrant graffiti art and a peek into their high-end dough room—Riverside Pizza Factory is serving up some of the most technical and tasty slices I’ve had in a while. We sampled three distinct styles, and each one was a winner.
The Lineup:
* Detroit Style: This was a texture lover’s dream. It came out super crispy with that perfect cheesy edge, and we caught a distinct hint of smoked flavoring that really elevated the square slice.
* Neapolitan Slice: A beautiful, airy crust topped with fresh basil and a generous swirl of cream sauce. That cream gives it a unique sweet boost that balances the savory tomato base perfectly.
* The Tomato Pie: This is the perfect specimen of a classic. It’s heavily seasoned and focuses on the quality of the sauce and the crust’s bake.
The Vibe
The shop has an awesome, industrial-meets-street-art feel. From the “Pizza Factory” mural featuring a grinning slice on a conveyor belt to the literal factory-style pipes and gear, the atmosphere is as bold as the flavors. You can tell they take their craft seriously—look at that dough-prep station with the professional mixers and precision scales.
> Final Thought: Whether you’re sitting at the outdoor tables in the snow or grabbing a box to go, this is top-tier pizza.

Upon first bite, we found the crust to be crispy, yet melts in your mouth, toasted but not burnt. Reminds us of the crust we had at an alley pizza place in Sicily. Mozzarella is high quality – when you taste it, you will understand. It has an extra savory dimension to it. Spices are perfectly balanced and the tomato sauce is tangy and obviously homemade with small pieces of tomato.
Set behind a few stores overlooking the occoquan river, this pizza joint is a cross of Sicily and authentic New York. Well – Service is not just fast but welcoming – so maybe more Long Island than NYC.
Keep in mind they don’t accept cash.
I stopped by on Friday and they were sold out, but Josh, the owner, personally reached out the next day to apologize and invited me to pick up a fresh batch. That alone says so much about the level of care.
And the cinnamon rolls? Hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. Absolutely delicious, especially when they’re warm. Soft, perfectly spiced, and truly unforgettable.
