Maybe the cook was hungover?! I’ve heard this is supposed to be a really good place and it’s always busy, of course it has an amazing view of the Bay with nice outdoor sitting. I got peel and eat shrimp. They were overcooked, rubbery, and difficult to peel. They were cooked in a good seasoning, but that couldn’t save these flavorless shrimp. They were so bad I couldn’t force myself to eat any more than half of them. Thankfully the waitress saw I didn’t eat much, then gave me a discount. Yay her! They aren’t cheap, so i don’t know if i will try again

I’ve always loved this place, especially for the atmosphere and friendly service. It still has that, but the quality of the food has continually declined for years as the price has risen. Spent $20 on the grouper sandwich, not sure if it was actually grouper and the filet was super small. However, the kids fried shrimp was really good. Our waitress was super nice, worked hard to keep up with everyone. Be prepared to wait for your food, but that should be ok, its about the atmosphere, I still love it. To the owners, please add more fish to the sandwiches, this is such a great place,

Seafood was really good, had the combo platter with fish, scallops and shrimp. Fries were cold so didn’t enjoy much. Yummy hush puppies per my hubby. Rustic atmosphere, on the riverfront with birds joining us for any leftovers, haha. Waitress was friendly and attentive.

I’ll start by saying it was an extremely slow night. While we were there, there was one other couple in the entire restaurant. It is off-season for a restaurant kn the water and it was 7pm on a Tuesday night, so it wasn’t shocking. The server was fantastic and very attentive. We had a dozen delicious raw oysters, a fried crab claw basket with cajun season and shrimp tacos. This food was on point and very delicious. It didn’t hurt that I got to share it with a beautiful lady too. I would highly recommend this place. It looks to be a fun spot on weekends and during the summer. I will definitely be back.

We sat at the dock, and it was absolutely beautiful.We really enjoyed our meal looking at the water. I appreciate that they have good sturdy chairs out there as well as woodbenches, so you have good options for everybody. The oysters were a little salty, but I knew that ahead of time, but were absolutely delicious. As was the yellow fin tuna sandwich and first mate. Number one combo.

We happened upon Riverside Cafe during the Blue Stone Crab festival. We were able to dock our boat and grab a table for lunch. We had a pup with us and they allowed us to keep him at the table in the Tiki Hut area. The food was great. The live music and atmosphere was great. Our waitress was friendly and took good care of us.

Best fried seafood meal we’ve had – probably ever.
We rode the Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail, which is a beautiful bike ride with St. Marks as the picturesque spot for a lunch break. We love the laid back vibe of the place and sat inside overlooking the bird show around the outside hut.
We had the The First Mate’s basket and the Shrimp basket. Everything was perfectly cooked, especially the fish. Like, for real, it was so perfectly cooked and we loved the breading. Shrimp were on point and even Cole slaw and hush puppies were great. We’ve been on a bike ride journey all over Florida the past few weeks and agree that it was the best fried fish/shrimp the whole trip. And my companion is a fried shrimp connoisseur.
It was a quiet, chilly, yet sunny day so it wasn’t excessively busy which was really nice. Our waitress was awesome, friendly, and checked on us the perfect mount of times.
We will definitely be back!

Be prepared to hang out.
We were not prepared to hangout. We were pretty hungry after an active morning. The waitstaff are very friendly, and there is a notice that lets you know it could be 1 to 1.5 hours for your food. We didn’t see this sign until we had ordered and been waiting a bit.
This is a cool place, if you have a lot of time. My husband and I visited on a Saturday afternoon around 1:30. You seat yourself, and It takes a little bit for everything to come out. We did enjoy our sandwiches. I ordered a Club sandwich, my husband had the Black Angus Philly Cheesesteak.
In fairness, we were looking for quick, and are not seafood lovers. I think this was just the wrong spot for what we were seeking that particular day.

How gorgeous the view is!!! The first time I saw the tide rushing out to sea and amazingly, tree tops and branches being taken away!
Our server was absolutely wonderful and so awesome to getting our appetizers – our panko covered and breaded mushrooms and onion rings. My fish was perfect! Recommend everyone to stop by for brunch or dinner!!!
