The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food came out in a timely manner. My coffee and water were always filled. My pancakes were huge! I had a delicious omelette. It’s definitely a cozy, older atmosphere but that’s what gave it It’s charm. I would go again.

I was there earlier today & I am still thinking about it, we covered breakfast, lunch & dinner between the 4 of us and every single thing was deeeeelicious. Great portions, great food, great service. Absolutely loved it seriously can not wait to go back.

As soon as we got in, the first thing we noticed was the musty smell of the restaurant. Nobody was at the reception desk but a lady from afar said she will be there in a minute. We stood there for a good couple of minutes and a different younger lady showed up and sat us down served coffee and gave us the menu (She was efficient). We waited for someone to come by to take our orders and it took awhile until the first (older) lady who asked us to wait at the reception finally showed up. I ordered waffle (thinking it would be the safest), my husband ordered the “Day Breaker”. Food service was seriously slow, and when the food came my husband’s bacon pieces were very rubbery and hard to chew, i tried a piece and couldn’t even finish it. My waffle which I thought was the safest option, was a real mistake. The edges were overcooked but the middle was heavy that you can’t lift a small piece without it falling apart. It’s on the salty side too.. yes, i know, a salty waffle?! Honestly, this is the first time wherein I did not enjoy a waffle, and it’s $13+ for a piece. So, we were done and again here comes the waiting game… took forever for someone to show up and bring the bill and we went to tje front to pay and there was nobody there we again had to wait. Soon as we left we both said, we are never going back. Sadly, we like and enjoy discovering new places to eat and this one really disappointed us. First and last visit.

I love this local gem. I just had the most delicious bowl of Mennonite Borscht. So delicious, tasty and healthy! I eat breakfast here all the time and love their potatoes as they’re not deep fried or greasy yet very tasty. As well the eggs and local bacon are delish. Always consistently wonderful food.

Went with a group for lunch. Ordered the seniors roast beef dinner. The Yorkshire pudding was flat not fluffy and saturated with cold gravy. The roast beef was cold so was the mashed potato. The server did not do a table check. Also ordered hot water to drink. It came in a teapot and was hot, but no refills. Others at the table got refills of coffee and soft drinks.
2 people in our group chose the lemon chicken soup. Both said it was way too lemony. Another person ordered the liver and onions and said never again

Excellent service, very friendly, comfort food menu. Clean and tidy, if a bit dated which has its charm. Food was excellent; my omelette was perfectly cooked and loaded with veggies. My wife’s shepherds pie looked savoury and loaded as well (tho she said it was quite salty). Our experience was still very positive! We will be back!

Truly a “Family Restaurant”… Actually owned and operated by 3 sisters! The food is real down-home and the Service!
W O W ! Most of the other restaurants in the area should send their employees here to “observe and learn” how food-service Should Be Done !
Look at most of my other reviews, and the common problem for the last few years is Serving Staff who have Not been trained!

I cannot remember how long it’s been for them at this location, but even at the old spot they were one of many hidden gems of Abbotsford.
