Enjoyed our first visit to Riverdale. Nice, grand size. Our server JJ was really great and super attentive. Service was excellent. Lots of great breakfast options. Yummy waffles and pancakes. My veggie omelette was excellent

Very nice place and great food. Their menu is varied enough to keep you thinking for a while and you can make your own custom sandwich and burger. Lots of parking lot space. Very clean and inviting environment. We had a good time there. And the coffee was really good too. We love dinners and this one is a go to if we ever find ourselves in the area again. $63 for both our burgers, a couple of coffees, juices, cheesecake and $5 tip.

Everything was cooked to perfection. Stuff is very polite and helpful. If you have food allergies is best to let your waiter know. Checking out is easy once you get your bill you can pay it at the register in the front.

Me and my wife tried this place for the first time . I ordered a pot roast and they gave me mostly gravy and didn’t even look appetizing . I didn’t eat the order and they still charged me for it . My wife seems to have enjoyed her breakfast food of pancakes and eggs. After I left I saw an elderly couple hobbling in on some crutches and the front door staff / waitress watched as the woman struggled to open the door for her husband . I ran back to hold the door open for them. This was my first and last time eating here.

We were talking with some friends Saturday night about local diners in the valley and how disappointed I was with the food at 2 of them. One of them recommended Riverdale diner so we decided to try it on Sunday afternoon. I went there once or twice many many years ago, so this is probably only my second or third visit. When we walked in, we were immediately seated. Now, when I go into a diner, I’m always looking for comfort food so for me it’s either meatloaf or the turkey dinner. I decided to try the turkey dinner. At two other local Valley diners the turkey dinners were very disappointing because they had absolutely no flavor at all, especially in the gravy. But at Riverdale, it was a bit different, the turkey consisted of both white meat and dark meat with gravy, which I really enjoyed because I did not get any dark meat at the other two diners. It came with a huge portion of mashed potatoes, a side of green beans, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. The gravy was also more flavorful than the other diners but could still use a little more flavor. My other half had a burger and tater tots. He ordered it medium, but it came closer to well done, but it was very juicy and had good flavor. Looks like we’ll be going back in the future because I need to try the meatloaf next and will probably check it out for breakfast soon.

After I left work today, I called in and did a takeout order for a meatloaf dinner. It consisted of two large pieces of meatloaf, a very large portion of real mashed potatoes and a nice size portion of green beans. I have to admit that their meatloaf was very good for diner meatloaf. It was much better than one of the other diners that I had it in the valley and better than some more expensive restaurants also. It was about $17 for the portion and I’m able to get two meals out of it.

I haven’t been here in a long time and I’m glad I came back. The food is outstanding. The wait staff was courteous. Attentive to my needs and answered all my questions with ease. Definitely be back again thank you. Thank you!

Ordered pancakes, potato’s, eggs, English muffins. Everything but the English muffins were cooked on a filthy grill. The food tasted awful. Asked to speak with the manager and was told the manager was not there. The same for the owner. I would like to have heard their version of the disgusting meal. I do NOT recommend this establishment. I had photos, however, there is no attachment feature for the photos.

We went there as a family on a Sunday afternoon. It was not at all crowded. We ordered from the dinner menu. The service was very friendly. The waiters did their job very well. The food was quite good for a diner and reasonably priced. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

The owner sits there and is not very personable all business I feel that is one thing you need in the restaurant business, feeling at home and not just fit in fed and moved out the food is good .small things bother me like they give one piece of bread with breakfast eggs and if you ask for 2 slices they up charge and the meals are expensive enough to warrant no unchanged. They also still have their egg prices up even though eggs are now back down to 3 dollars a dozen…. im adding this after owner response. . I have been there multiple times and have had breakfast everytime. YOUR wait staff charged me multiple times for an “extra” slice of bread my wife was with me when it happened. And maybe you took away the 50 cent charge but your prices seemed to stay elevated at the jacked up price. So maybe it has been designated as another thing but it doesnt and the up charge on anything over 2 cups of coffee is ridiculous. We ve also seen you embarrass an employee in front of guests. If you ask me, you should stay in the office and hire someone with better hospitality than you show. We won’t be back even though. By the way, your food is pretty good. But there are plenty of good diners here in Connecticut. An atmosphere has a lot to do with everything. So does attitude.

We stopped here this evening while traveling, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the service and food. The chicken noodle soup was absolutely delicious and their burgers and fries were equally good. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, even with being so close to closing time. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
