Great service! We had chips and queso with crumbled sausage to start and l really enjoyed it. My wife thought the chips were a little burned but we did finish them. My wife had a burger that was cooked well but lacked that little extra that would make you want to come back and order it again. While it was dressed it came with no condiments. No worry all of those were on the table. Her fries were shoestrings and tasted good. I had a beef debris PoBoy dressed with fries. The PoBoy was good but nothing to go out of your way to get. We both had sodas that were good and our glasses were kept full without asking. We may return for another try but this will not be at the top of our list to go back to. For the price we could have gone to Chili’s and got an equivalent meal and probably a little more tasty.

My friends brought me here for lunch. The food and service were excellent. There is plenty of seating, and you get great views of the river upstairs. I really enjoyed the fried mushrooms as they were full of flavor and super juicy. Great drink specials, too. I will definitely go back next time I’m in the area.

Nice atmosphere, food not so good I ordered the steak with potatoes and 2 eggs over hard, was not over hard was runny, with a biscuit.. the potatoes taste reheated and chewy, the manager made me a fresh batch which was perfect, steak was ordered medium well it was well so if you order the steak I would order 1 less degree to your liking. The biscuits were hard and cold I was told by the server they are made homemade but did not taste them due to how hard and cold they were. The manager was very apologized for the food and took it off my ticket. I am a lover of mimosas they have very good cheap prices but mine was flat no bubbly at all. So I cannot recommend those. It would probably be hit or miss. My server was amazing all around great personality.

My family and I went to the River Shack and Gretna for lunch. The food was pretty good! My wife enjoyed her buffalo chicken wrap. I was craving French toast and enjoyed my dish. The reason for 3 stars was the service. We were sat promptly but forgot about by our waiter. After our order was placed our appetizer never arrived before our main.

I got the seafood benedict, my wife got the buffalo chicken salad and the boys got chicky tendys and fries and the roast beef po boy. The food and service was good. And our rum punch and frozee were good. We finished off the Saints game with some locals. We would totally go back.

Waited an hour for our tables. We split our party of 16 into 2 separate tables, so we could get faster service. All of us ordered at the same time. By the time the 1st table was finishing up their meals, the 2nd table was served. We waited over an hour for our food.
The food was good, as it typically is and also the service was good.

Great food! They often have live music on the weekends which was a lot of fun. Plenty of TV’s inside and outside. The staff there are exceptional!

Decided to try this little, big spot in Gretna since I have passed here so many times on the river. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It’s sit yourself and then the waitress come to you. Our waitress was Tina and Brandy but mainly Tina. We received our menus and looked them over. Ordered water, lemonade and Arnold palmer to drink. The Arnold palmer was perfect. The lemonade by itself taste more like a powder mix. We ordered the fried mushrooms and spinach artichoke dip for appetizers. The mushrooms were served fresh with a side of “dill ranch”. My only downside is they don’t remove the gills, which give a bitter taste, other than that, they were really good. The spinach artichoke dip was good but one of the cheeses was very bitter. Not very moist. We then ordered our main course. Mom choice the daily special “Mama Lou’s” Fried chicken. It came with 3 random pieces ( they chose breast, leg and wing) and Mac-n-cheese( still cold), which there are NO SUBSTITUTIONS on specials so she had to order a side of zucchini and squash. The chicken was VERY, VERY, VERY crispy. So crispy that it would barely cut with a steak fork and therefore could NOT be bit with bare teeth. In other words it was too hard to eat the skin. However, the breast was perfectly crispy with good seasoning. The inside was ok on the wing but the leg was still red inside which made us believe it was old or cooked too fast. The alligator po’boy was ordered with added grilled onions, dressed with lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. I chose the sweet potato fries for an extra $2.50. The alligator did not have any seasoned flavor except for a little kickback at the end of each bite, other than that, it was bland. The bread was awesome though, soft and crispy all in one. The fries were hot, crispy outside and soft inside to perfection. There appeared to only be 3 servers besides the bartender. Trina did an awesome job serving us. She moved to say it was a packed house and she also had a party of 22 behind us. Overall it was a pretty good experience thanks to the appetizers and drinks. The $65.86 bill suggested that on the next go round, maybe stick with something safe like onion rings and seafood Platter. ***** big bathroom and very clean
