River Oaks is classy restaurant with quality food. I tried their “jumbo” crab cakes and pan seared halibut. Surprised that the two crab cakes were not larger than two meatball and is a bit misleading to call them “jumbo” as how they are served in other parts of the US. The pan seared halibut is a well balanced entree with a high quality piece of fish, perfectly cooked green beans and homemade fried potatoes. I love that both appetizer and entrees are well balanced with protein and greens and vegetables.

Very attentive service and excellent food. Kayla was our server and was very patient with all our questions about the menu.

This little place is a gem. I was going to have the gluten free fried chicken, Wednesday special but we got there at 8pm and they were sold out. Our waiter suggested another dish, pork tenderloin. It was amazing! The combination of flavors was a delight because it was stuffed and wrapped in bacon, sitting on a bed of polenta with avocado etc. Truly wonderful for my taste buds.
My husband had a burger and he said it was okay. So it’s better to order something that the chef can create with. Their menu doesn’t describe enough what goes into the dishes so ask.
Also we shared (the pic shows half) the watermelon salad. Again a very creative combination of flavors that was delightful. I feel like they picked the best part of the watermelon to make it, (the center) in order for it to be perfect. The food was well worth the price as I don’t mind spending money on food that is excellent.
The one down side is the incredible noise as the room was full of loud joyous people. I think they were so full of joy because of the food. I will definitely tolerate this noise to get this food! And last but not least, the service was excellent.

The location was tricky to get in the correct lane to turn in. Just an FYI & heads up!!
Oh my goodness!! Went here with a group of 8 girlfriends and we had a splendid time. The food was ah-mazing, the server was amazing but the time spent with friends was worth it all!!!
The young man came around often to fill our water glasses!! And a manager stopped and asked if we needed anything. I guess we were a bit too loud but we didn’t lower the volume!!

Great experience! The service was good and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. The drinks were well made. We loved both cheese appetizers, beet salad and all of our entrees. The lamb was especially good. Both desserts were a little of a miss (just comparing to the rest of the phenomenal dinner) but they both got eaten for sure. The chocolate fondant cake was a little dry and the pastry on the apple dish was tough to chew. All of the plating was beautiful, maybe the best I’ve seen in town. Plenty of parking. Overall definitely do recommend.

Excellent food, presented artfully. We REALLY enjoyed our dinner. I had a beef filet and my wife had salmon. Her fish was served on a bed of “cauliflower risotto” which was a tasty cauliflower diced as a risotto… fantastic. My beef was a quality cut over mashed potatoes and excellent gravy with a small bit of ratatouille on top… SO GOOD. My house salad was simple with the house dressing and my wife’s tomato bisque has great flavor and was accompanied by a small Gruyère grilled cheese sandwich. Desert was an artistic apple crumble with vanilla ice cream in the shape of a rose. We are VERY strong world travelers and found this meal to be excellent. Service was very very good.

Master Chef Jose Gutierrezs’ passion for food and his formal training still shine like a star in every dish. It’s been 25 years since experiencing his cusine and all I can say is my heart is full – food prepared perfectly.
The ratatouille with the Beniets exquisite. The small touches of browned parisian potatoes a classic garnish served with the lamb. The beef short ribs melted in your mouth paired perfectly with sweet potatoes and hergot vert.
But my favorite was the creme brulee, served in an long shallow rectangular dish. I have been on a quest to find a good creme brulee and Chefs was superb!
I can’t wait to go back in April on our return trip back east.

Our party of 4 had an absolutely wonderful time on NYE and the food was phenomenal! It’s been a long time since I’ve been. Unfortunately, I don’t think I want to go back. It was dim and hard to see the bill, so I didn’t see that gratuity had already been added. I realized after getting home and seeing it in the light that I tipped 20% on top of everything. That’s just something you have the courtesy of mentioning at restaurants. I had a late day at work myself, was tired, and simply didn’t see it. That’s not nice, you guys. Certainly not the end of the world; our server was great. It’s an integrity issue to me.

The staff was extremely friendly, but we had a confusing visit. They sat us at a table and said they had a the table reserved for 2 hours after we sat down. We didn’t think it would be an issue, but it did end up taking an hour and a half for the food to come out. Then when they did bring the food out they had forgotten the petite salad for my young niece. Not a huge deal, but the shrimp was really bad. Bad enough that I would recommend patrons avoid the shrimp. The shrimp was dry and chewy and smelled spoiled. So from my perspective, these very friendly people didn’t get the child’s salad first, Even though they had served two salads, and the salad they did serve to the child was less than appetizing. Some of the dishes were home runs. The salmon was delicious, the watermelon salad was a treat, but it almost seems like a gamble of what is good. I can’t in good conscious recommend this place. It’s a shame because the staff was so nice. For the prices here, the risk is not worth.

The Braised Short Ribs with green beans and mashed potatoes were absolutely incredible—tender, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The Diva cocktail was smooth and easy to enjoy. Service was outstanding, and the menu had so many tempting options. Can’t wait to return!
