What once was known as the Chalet, a Wisconsin supper club, is now River Jack’s Bar & Grill. We have a unique bar food menu. We serve the famous Baked French Onion soup that the Chalet once used to. Try our wedge salad, any one of our wraps. You will want to try our most popular sandwich, Italian Beef. Come join us Tuesdays at 6:30 PM for Xtreme Bar Bingo and Wednesdays for 50 cent wings and karaoke in the summer 6-9 pm. Follow our Facebook. I came here all the way from Milwaukee. Kara (I hope I spelled that right) was our server and she was awesome. I got the BLT wrap + side salad with Italian vinaigrette dressing. The BEST food I’ve ever had. Not kidding. So. damn. good. If you’re in the area, you need to stop by here. This was absolutely worth the drive, and I will definitely be back.

We found this place by chance, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Huge portions of everything, homemade dips/dressings, and very reasonably priced. Our bartender and server Sherry was very nice and got everything to us very fast and very hot.

We just moved to walworth county and were looking for new fish fry places and we found River Jacks. Moving from Milwaukee our first thought is who puts a fish fry place in the middle of a corn field. We got that answered after eating our meal.
Bruce the owner has made sure to serve one of the best cod fish fries I have ever had. And his potato pancakes are addictive. Nothing beats hand battered thick fried cod fillets.
But more importantly he took the time to talk to us and tell his restaurants story. When a chefowner does that you can feel the pride and work that is required to have top notch food.
The French onion soup came with a bubbly topping of cheese. It is a thicker version than normal but very flavorful.
The place had a Wisconsin Northwoods feeling.
I highly recommend trying this place. I will be back to try the Italian Beef which Bruce said is good.

French Onion soup was delicious. Thick and creamy compared to the usual broth style. Thursday special of Meatloaf and Mashed potatoes was excellent. The flavor and texture were spot on for my taste.

The overall feel of the place is more of a rustic bar than restaurant, but the service and food is really great. The drink offerings are pretty basic, so don’t expect a muddled Old Fashioned, or anything like that. The wedge salad is great and enormous, the fish fry (no baked) is one of my top three in the area. I haven’t tried it, but the pictured pork chop sandwich looks impressive. For you old timers, they apparently have the original recipe for the old “Chalet” French Onion Soup, so I will certainly be trying that on my next visit. The place is small and gets busy, but food is served quite early and very late.

Their food is delicious. Rumor is their French onion soup is a favorite from a past establishment. It was good. Also the FIXXX Bloody Mary was delicious. I forgot to ask about the cucumber jalapeños tequila in the bloody.

First time here, went with 3 ppl….we went for wing Wednesday and had thier nachos fed 3 ppl, top to bottom topping A+ nachos, the 3 of us were about full before the wings came out….wings were very good as well. Country ppl atmosphere all laughing and excellent service …cheap cocktails and GREAT low key atmosphere, highly recommended!!!! Went for the fish fry tonight the fried cod is excellent the potato pancakes also excellent, the broiled fish was cooked to perfection but needs some seasoning more then what looked like paprika that was on it. I’d highly recommend the fish fry. wished the butterfly shrimp was non breaded but can’t win them all. Was an excellent meal
