A female employee scolded me for stepping outside (smoking area) with a drink in my hand. Told me it was Michigan law to keep drinks in the bar. (I was just letting our party know we were heading out). I felt singled out because i was black. I told her that she noticed my drink stepping outside the bar but didn’t notice 3 white women bring drinks in your bar?? She said in her defense that she had earphones on lol and had not been there long, but it was long enough for you to single me out. We had been in the bar about an hour by then. I told her we were about to have a teachable moment because I was with the white girls that brought the drinks in. I’ve included proof so I can back my experience up. We gotta do better, River City frfr. The waitress was told several times that our drinks were covered and still charged some of the party goers. Our gracious friends covered everyone’s tab at each bar as we were on a party bus celebrating a birthday. The drinks were great, and so were the seasoning they used on their fries.

Back in my bar band days, our band Lefty Malone played a number of shows at the RCS. We would also come and play on jam nights with Everett. This past Wednesday was the first time I had been back since New Management took over. They’ve really clean the place up. It’s all newly remodeled, with a more open floor plan. The gal that was working the day shift at the bar is my kind of bartender. She was always right there when I needed her, and quick witted. As a guy, she was easy on the eyes. So here’s to you RCS! May you have more decades of continued success! ☮️

Visited here for live music which was good but the band took a good 35 minutes to set up. Small space so expect it to be very loud. Service was lackluster – we waited at least 15 minutes to even be acknowledged. Their holiday drink specials however were very good.
