Not a bad experience overall. Small little restaurant nestled against the river. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was subpar and lacked flavor. Dinner rolls were hard and dry. Overall decent but needs some work on the food.

My husband ordered a steak dinner medium rare with a baked potato. Picture is of the baked potato. Our server did not seem concerned/apologetic when he said that it was hard and overcooked. He asked for replacement fries. His steak was actually well done instead of medium rare. He did not even eat half of the steak. I had a cheesesteak. It was bland. The atmosphere: stuffy/warm and a patron at another table was watching a show on her phone with the volume turned up loud enough to disturb us two tables away. Our experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. We rated the waitress as a three as she had no control over the kitchen but she could have handled making the order correct better. No refills on drinks and my husband’s drink was incorrect to begin with. I would definitely never eat there again.

A beautiful patio, a friendly server, and some fried seafood. The food was good but not outstanding, with few healthy entree options. The cole slaw was sweet without any tanginess. But it was all ok and the patio was worth it! Dog friendly too.

I love the bartender, she’s always on top of refilling my drinks without me asking. She’s friendly, shes fun and joins us playing pool, and still does her job efficiently. She deserves a raise honestly and makes the place a lot more fun.

Disappointed..
We wanted to try something new for once and honestly it was awful. The food was bad, the service was bad, bathrooms were nasty, the floors were nasty, the window seals were nasty. BBQ was awful so I ordered a chicken sandwich instead, that was awful too because it was still pink on the inside, even the lettuce & pickles were awful. I mean if someone can’t take the time to fix these issues, the place needs shut down before someone gets sick. Be more sanitary, find a new waitress that actually wants to interact with people, and make sure the food is actually good and cooked well before letting others eat it. Thanks, won’t be returning.

We were looking for a local dinner for lunch and this was close by. Service was quick and friendly. The food came out in a reasonable time. The restaurant was not busy at 12:30. Our food was good. My mashed potatoes and green weren’t very hot but tasted good. The country fried steak was good and hot and the accompanying gravy was tasty. The tater tots had a strong onion flavor. The hamburger my wife had was very good.

Great experience. Very welcoming wait staff!. What a beautiful view sitting out on the deck overlooking the New River! Prices were cheap comapred to what I am use to in NC and food was excellent! I had the grilled chicken sandwich and a side of macorroni. I highly recommend if you for some reason happen to be coming through the quaint little town of Hinton, WV

I read so many great reviews of this place.
I was so disappointed by the entire experience. I think it was a management / top of the chain problem.
There were only two young girls working yesterday. both seemed to be in need of more training. We got seated and noticed the “sea food bar” it had maybe 5-6 items on it. By husband was going to get it but when he heard the price was over $50 to get it he said no thanks. There wasn’t enough food to compensate that price in a small town. It was a Saturday evening, there was a local festival going on, in the summer. There should be more than two young girls working.
We ordered an appetizer, waited for our order to be taken. The girl came back like 10 minutes later and asked if we needed anything I told her we still needed to order. She had forgotten.
When our appetizers arrived, 43 minutes later, they were cold, I asked for ranch, it was room temp and had a brown film over it, I tasted a small amount on my finger, it was soured, I’m assuming from being room temp. I didn’t complain.
I asked for forks for us. The girl brought one pack for both of us to use. It was strange, again I didn’t complain, we improvised.
Our food finally came out, over and hour after ordering. My husbands 3meat club had cold out of a bag bacon bits on it for one of the meats I’ve never seen this on a club, along with the heel of the bread for his sandwich. He wasn’t to happy about it, but he ate it and didn’t complain.
My sandwich was a joke.
I ordered the cheesesteak for 11 dollars and some change. It didn’t come with fries, you couldn’t see the meat on the sandwich. It was supposed to have peppers, onions, mushrooms and a combo of cheese, thinking back I don’t think mine had cheese. I seen one tiny sliver of an onion and maybe 1 mushroom. If I’m paying that much for a cheese steak I want a cheese steak. I could have made this way better at home for a much cheaper price. The meat wasn’t even broken up like a cheese steak it was a hard chunk of meat. I ate it, it wasn’t good. I told my husband we would never be back.
I’m so disappointed. The entire 2 hours we were there, no one touched the seafood bar. The trays had turned black from running out of liquid inside the trays and dried up the food. It was sad. Someone probably got sick if they came in there to eat yesterday evening.
I seen several people come off the street and walk back in the kitchen. It was very unprofessional. We won’t be back and I would just go somewhere else. Our bill was almost $50 for my husband and I. It was terrible food and service.

Had been hearing of more and more people going and how good the food was, was NOT disappointed. All of it was GREAT! EVERYTHING tasted fresh and came to the table piping hot! I highly suggest the Alaskan Cod plate. The fish and batter were so good, I didn’t even use the vinegar or tartar sauce! Will definitely go again, perhaps on a warm evening to enjoy the outside dining over the river!! A+
