Social Profile:

Rito’s Mexican Food is celebrating 45 years of business this year and we could not be more excited about the future as a company. What began as a neighborhood convenience store within the Garfield Historic Neighborhood quickly found itself selling more burritos and tacos from its limited to go only kitchen, than grocery goods. To that end, Rito and Rosemary Salinas decided to pivot the Rito’s concept into a take out only Mexican Food establishment that has served the Valley Of The Sun time honored family recipes spanning generations. Like a true family owned business Charlotte works along side her sister, nieces, nephews, sons and long time staff some of whom have been with the company over 30 years.

The chips were very salty, but the salsas were exquisite. The steak quesadilla was good, would get it again. I got the green chili enchilada burrito with green and red salsa. The sauce was so salty. I didn’t try the drinks but maybe I’d come back for the drinks and ambiance, but probably not for the food.

Rito’s is a Phoenix institution, and for good reason. They just make great food, have great service, and the location is relaxed and welcoming. If you want to be full for the whole day, any of their burritos will fill you up (especially if you get them enchilada style and have a side of beans – yum!!). The food is flavorful, and the price is reasonable especially for the quality.

When the weather is nice, you can’t go wrong sitting on their patio or at the outside bar.

This is a family favorite, and we’ve never been disappointed.

I have been going to Rito’s Mexican Food my entire life. It’s a Phoenix staple. But the 7th Ave location is actively damaging the Rito’s name.

I called in my order. When I picked it up, the entire order was wrong. I called immediately and was PROMISED the plates would be replaced. When I went in, they only offered to replace the sides — not the incorrect meals. That is not what I was told.

I called back and spoke with Keagan. After explaining everything again, she said she would check the recipe and replace the plates. She never confirmed the corrected order and hung up. I had to call AGAIN to make sure it was fixed. That’s when I was told the kitchen manager said I could only receive what was originally written down.

So now I have:
• A completely wrong order
• False promises
• No replacement
• No accountability

If a kitchen manager had the authority to override what I was promised, that is who I should have spoken to from the start. Instead, I was given the runaround.

This location lacks professionalism, consistency, and basic customer service. When you franchise a well-known local restaurant, you carry the responsibility of protecting its reputation — not dragging it down.

Long-time customers notice the difference. And it’s not a good one.

6/29/24: OMG, was Rito’s good! They won the trifecta: superb service, delightful decor, fantastic food. If you have not tried Rito’s Crown location, you are missing out on mighty fine food.

Long version: we wanted decent Mexican food for lunch and we definitely had that at Rito’s. Off the bat, there is a large parking lot to the east of the complex. We arrived around 2:30 or so and there was also plenty of street parking. Could be a totally different story for dinnertime.

It is not a huge restaurant but it is well designed on the inside (seating and decor), plus they have a nice sized patio on the west side of the building. The picture shows umbrellas; I did not notice misters. Needless to say, we opted to sit indoors to escape the heat.

Chips & salsa were deposited onto the table within seconds of being seated, shortly followed by water. Bonus: they did not bring straws with the water. I did get one with the horchata, EXTRA BONUS: it was compostable! That’s a great thing in my mind. The horchata? Some of the best I have had, and I have had it from many different restaurants because I love it.

Our server, Missy, was pulling double duty as the bartender. Amazing. Not only was she funny and polite, but she did not even have to write down our order; kept it all in her head — and did not screw it up. She absolutely deserved the 20% tip. The other servers were also punctual with water refills and clearing off our plates; I wonder if they receive a portion of the tip … ?

This complimentary chips were thick & crispy (they paired well w/ my side of beans). We ordered quite a bit because we wanted leftovers for dinner. The crispy beef and crispy chicken tacos were great (although I did nab some of my sisters sour cream to dab on them), and the side of beans were so good.

My sister’s three way burrito was huge and well seasoned. If you see her plate there is hardly any room left on it, thanks to the heaping sides of beans and rice.

I highly recommend Rito’s Crown location.

Really enjoyed the red Chile beef burrito with added rice for $14. The beef was tender and red sauce had just the right amount of spice.
Chicken though was not all white meat.

Chips & salsa on point. Best bean and cheese burritos. Get it enchilada style with red sauce (yum) or plain. Rice and beans on the side are a must. The crunchy chicken tacos are amazing. Add one on the side of your burrito!!! Last but not least (pro tip) Order a side of their crazy thick sour cream.

This is my kids and I’s fav Mexican food spot. We drive from west side Glendale to come here once every couple weeks. Great little grassy area outside (in the back) for kids to play while waiting for food or after eating while adults talk.

This is worth a pit stop, the breakfast was so good and the enchilada were the best enchiladas I’ve eaten at a Mexican restaurant. One of the salsas was a little too sour for me, almost vinegary. The tacos were amazing and crunchy. Also, everyone we spoke to was so friendly.

Some of the best and most authentic Mexican food you can have in Phoenix combined with a welcoming and open atmosphere. We hosted an event here for 60 people on the back patio and gardens and couldn’t have asked for better food, service, and ambiance. Highly recommend. Daniel and his team are genuinely great people and true professionals. Three generations!
