I had never had Italian Ice before trying Rita’s. I had the Passonfruit Paloma flavor in a kids cup and it was delicious and refreshing. I tried the actual custard but it wasn’t my favorite. It was too thick for me and reminded me of cake icing but just cold. I would revisit to try their other selections on a hot day.

I moved to N.C. 3 years ago from PA and was always sad there wasn’t a Rita’s aside from the Durham Bulls stadium. We came here with our kids on a Friday night. The girl and boy worker inside were so nice. They were patient with my kids who couldn’t pick a flavor. And told me about the app to save on our next visit. It was super clean and lots of seating outside. So happy there is a Rita’s here!!!

A great little dessert shop!
I’ve only been here twice, but the second time I was there, a man with special needs was working. He was very clearly on the severe end of the autism spectrum. A+ to this business giving someone with special needs employment. I’ll keep going back whenever I’m in town because of this.

I love, love, love your custard, BUT why are your employees so frugal with the amount that they dispense! I always get the large size & it is so small! Please do better or you will lose a great customer & possibly others!

Overall a good experience. The Italian Ice is delicious! One of the two people behind the counter seemed like she didn’t necessarily want to be there. I’m used to having amazing service there so maybe it was an off night. Regardless, I love this place and will be back again soon.

Visited today on the way home from my Charlotte weekend. The Swedish Fish gelati is my favorite, although I opted for a different flavor today. I sat and enjoyed my treat outdoors as the weather was nice today and the tables in front of the establishment was clean. The employees were friendly. I would definitely visit again the next time I am in the area.

On 8/31/24 at 9:50 pm, my family & I pulled into the parking lot of the Rita’s at 921 N. Harrison Ave in Cary, NC. Although the store closes at 10pm and there were patrons eating outside, a worker turned off the light. Still my two children & I went in as Rita’s is one of our favorite spots to frequent when we come to see NCFC b/c we don’t have one in our area. It was clear based on the looks on the faces of the four workers, all of who never greeted us and some never even glancing up from counting money and performing other closing duties, that our presence was not welcomed. As we stood in awkward silence at the register, one worker finally locked eyes with us just long enough for me to ask if she was ready to take our order. She shook her head yes, never uttering a word, to which I kindly replied “Oh, normally someone would ask a customer how they can help them but no one has said a word.” My son then asked for a vanilla shake and she looked at the other workers who advised that the blenders had been shut down. I wondered what it would take to get a blender up and operational, but clearly they had cleaned it already thus the reluctance. We made it easy on them and ordered 4 custards in a cup before taking our leave. From the picture I’ll post, you’ll see that it only took 5 minutes, with 5 minutes to spare before closing, to ruin a customer relationship. What was so disheartening was that even my 12 year old son recognized and commented on how unacceptable the treatment was. I implore leadership to work with staff to ensure that business hours are honored and that every person, regardless of who and when they walk through the door, is treated as the staff expects to be treated.
