I came into Rita’s this Monday and had such a great experience thanks to the worker, Clover. She greeted me with a really friendly smile, helped me choose a flavor by explaining the options clearly, and even offered a sample so I could decide. She made my order neatly and added extra napkins, which I appreciated. Overall, she was extremely kind, professional, and attentive — truly one of the sweetest employees I’ve encountered, and she made my visit so much better.

The other day I was traveling. I thought I went in just to look around. “Brie” was very helpful in telling me what was avaliable, and what would be able to suit my allergenic needs. It didnt feel rushed or pressured to order just very casual and helpful. They did it all with a smile and helpful attitude. Absolutely one of my new favorite spots to visit in Vienna. I must say, for a company that specializes almost exclusively in shaved ice, this place does it pretty well. Once a year Rita’s offers a free cup of Italian ice for the first day of spring and you best believe that my wife and I take full advantage of that deal.
The shaved ice is delicious, the staff was sweet and helpful, the seating was scarce and there’s plenty of street parking in the back.

I had high hopes for this place but to be honest it was just kind of ok. I got the soft serve frozen custard, not bad especially with the toppings but once I finished the toppings the frozen custard itself I felt was just kind of mediocre

I’ve been coming to this place year-round for several years now. I always found the price a bit high, but felt the quantity of frozen custard provided was fairly commensurate to the cost. In recent months, I’ve noticed that as the prices have increased, the amount of frozen custard provided on cones has significantly decreased – by a lot. I just can’t justify paying this much money for so little ice cream. The competition in the area is simply too great, especially when at the same price level, better quality and quantity of ice cream is being provided by other vendors. Hopefully it’ll be improved if I choose to give it another chance later in the summer.

Was disappointing experience , definitely not comparable to Nielsen’s frozen custard which used to be nearby on church st. The seven dollar strawberry milkshake was watery (possibly due to unset custard). The mango gelati was good though. Don’t think I’ll be back here.

Water Ice the way Philly intended. Infused flavor, smooth and creamy if you add custard. AFFORDABLE too. Custard super creamy and rich, changes the profile of the water ice. If you’ve only had snow cones, you’re missing out big. Parking available in back lot in addition to street. Thank you for coming to VA.
