Thinking or water ice, I think about Rita’s. This place is just off Lancaster Ave, with very limited parking. But I am able to get in get out most of the time. Our favorite at this place is always mango ice.

I usually have good service at this location, but tonight, the young gentleman, Aiden, left me with a dissatisfied experience. My sister asked about grape water ice, to which he said they didn’t have any, which is fine. However, he added “if it makes you feel any better, we had it yesterday.” That did not, in fact, make her feel better. He forgot our order and then said it had been a slow day and he just wanted to eat his cheesesteak. Very unprofessional coming from someone who has worked in the food service industry for almost seven years. The strawberry water ice also was not pumped enough and there were a ton of ice chunks. BRING BACK THE NERDS GRAPE WATER ICE PLEASE.

Emily Clarke is the greatest employee I’ve seen in the past half-decade, I, a pregnant single mother, walked into this Rita’s hoping for a sweet treat, but it quickly turned sour as I went into labor. Fearfully, I screamed for someone to call 911, but it was too late, Emily stepped up and helped deliver my baby, as well as give my newborn a frozen treat upon arrival. 10/10 customer service.

Constant long waits with only ONE cashier while other workers are aimlessly sitting around inside. I spent 25 minutes waiting in line with only one person in front of me. More people need to work the cashiers avoid unhappy customers.

It depends which worker you get. Unfortunately, I had Veronica, and it was beyond gross. There were pieces of her hair on my ice cream, and she was coughing over the water ice bucket. Totally unacceptable. Ew.

Rita’s is always a wonderful thing to enjoy on a hot summer day or to start out the spring season. I have frequented this location many times. They always have a line, but they keep the line moving quickly. They have a great selection and their service is always with a smile. I tend to bring my dog and love that they have something on the menu for her. The only reason why I am giving this location a 4 star and not a 5 is because their parking lot is small and it is sometime so full you can’t get in. Plus the line extends into the parking lot and you have to be careful when cars come in or leave. This has not stopped me from going to get my fix of Rita’s though.

After a long day of work and construction around the house, it was wonderful to kick back with my sons and small horse at Rita’s in Downingtown. We were in a rush to get there before closing, so I quickly changed out of work pants and into a bathing suit so as not to deprive the kiddos of their promised reward.
Fortunately, if you are friendly and smile at everyone in line, no one will acknowledge that you are wearing underwear longer than your floral bathing suit. Wonderful night.
