I absolutely love Rita’s custard. The cheesecake flavor and the cake batter flavor are 5 stars! I normally would have rated this location the previous years 5 stars, but this summer they barely had any selection. Today, they only had vanilla and chocolate custard flavors. I love chocolate, but Rita’s doesn’t make a great chocolate custard. The last time I came they had the cake batter flavor, but only 3 choices. Last year and previous years they had at least 4 custard flavors to choose from. That’s why I didn’t visit this location much this summer. They only had one cream ice on their menu too this summer. My favorite cream ices by Rita’s is marshmallow peanut butter and fudge brownie. Both flavors they didn’t carry at this location all summer which was very disappointing! If your ok with a limited selection then you will like this location. I’ll update my review when they expand their menu.

Today was National Italian Ice day and on May 3rd I went to Rita’s, ready to get my free ice with a purchase of a small custard. However when I arrived I ordered and after they brought me my order, none of the staff recognized the coupon or the email that I got from Rita’s. Even after bringing in the manager, who also had no ideas about the promotion, I was forced to pay in full even though it was a Rita’s national promotion. Extremely disappointed and surprised at the lack of knowledge of this promotion.

I can’t seem to add an additional update to a previous existing one. Either way, not much had changed. Open surprisingly Late A small chocolate custard w/chocolate sprinkles in a cup or cone is around $7. The girls working there are always very polite & my chocolate custard delicious! Place is well Lit, especially for at night. If you want t to avoid route 9, depending on what direction you’re coming from, you can enter & exit from behind the stores from off Franklin Lane.

Good customer service on one of the hottest days of the summer so far. Rita’s is always a great place to cool off in the summertime. This particular location is especially good because all the menu items and prices are clearly spelled out for easy decision making. My kids and I loved our custards. The umbrella shaded seating areas were very clean. This Rita’s is close to home base for us, so I know we’ll visit again soon.

Awesome stop on Route 9 for ices and ice cream. Good service and ready parking. Friendly staff, and the ices and custards and ice cream is really good! Fun toppings and reasonable prices. That also do pints/buckets to bring bask to the house with you. Outdoor picnic tables for when you meet your neighbors here unexpectedly or don’t want the mess in your car. No restroom, all treats from the takeout window. A really great seasonal summer treat. (Lots of sugar, options for those who avoid dairy,,closed during during late Autumn and through the winter. I so get here when it’s open.)

Great treats at reasonable prices. It’d be even better if the crew there could clean the tables. The two times we’ve eaten there (rather than bring it home), the tables have been stickier than a teenagers doorknob.

Gelato is more like Italian ice. Ice is cheaper than custard. That’s why Jersey Freeze has a line around the building and Rita’s had 3 customers.

Like any ice cream place it’s ok to visit on a hot day. The hotter the day, the better the experience. Yet, given the lack of seating areas and long lines to get a cone you really must to want it. If you’re on the fence, though, any grocery store or Wawa will do the trick with less stress, lack of sweat and exponential convenience.
