The dishes were spot on – we ordered the scallops au gratin, seabass ravioli, eggplant lasagna, and tiramisu – each one was a culinary delight, full of depth and nuance in flavors and texture. It was so good that I am contemplating returning tomorrow.
Restaurant was packed full but we came before the 7pm rush and were lucky enough to get a table. A true gem.
We tried the paccheri with seafood, lobster linguine, caprese salad and scallops and everything was delicious!
All the staff at this restaurant are really lovely but a special shout out to Niko who made us feel really welcome and had a lovely conversation with us!
Next time we are back in Venice we will definitely be coming back!
The Parmigiana was brilliant, but the Fritto Misto was super expensive and 90% of it was just breaded squid, which was a bit rubbery and without any tartarre sauce on the side.
It wasn’t that terrible, and I would probably give them a second chance because they did turn out to be better value for money than some other places in the area that had similar ratings.
Nico and Stefano were excellent hosts and made amazing food recommendations.
Get the Lobster Linguine! Seems like everything else on their menu is good too — including the duck and the steak!
There were two staff serving my table. One is tall and a bit thin and the other is a bit shorter and lchubbier. The chubby guy is really friendly with great suggestion on dishes. The other guy however, is incredibly rude and unprofessional.
For example, He answered questions bluntly with disregarded attitude. Pouring the water for my table, he recklessly clashed the bottle to my glass, and pouring aggressively making the water splashed everywhere. When bringing the dishes, it felt like he was throwing food to dogs. He dropped them on the table and immediately turned 180 degrees and walked away.
The restaurant opening hour is until 11pm. We went there at 9:30pm. However, at around 10:15, they are already in the process of closing: turning off lights, closing windows, putting equipment in the hallway. I didn’t know if they want to chase us away because we are the last customers, but if they did, they succeeded. We really didn’t want to be there after that and we will not come back in the future. With this type of service, you are lucky that the restaurant is in the hot touristic area. If it is elsewhere, good luck with that attitude.
Now to the food, the Paccheri allo Scoglio (pasta with seafood) was pretty good. I like this one. However, the Tagliolini ragu d’anatra (pasta with duck ragù) was quite bland. Tiramisu is okay as well.
The decorations is questionable with the gaint chandelier.
All in all, with this price range. I expected a much better experience, and not to be treated like a tourist dog.
