Reviews
While the environment can feel a bit chaotic, reducing the noise could improve the overall experience. On a positive note, the staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring we always have a full glass of soda.
The welcoming and cheerful service enhanced our visit. Beer prices are reasonable, with bottles ranging from $4.50 to $6 and drafts from $6 to $8.
The aromas from the kitchen were enticing, making us eager to try the food. Our meal arrived promptly—ordered at 6:30 and served by 6:45. However, the portion sizes were somewhat small, leaving both of us still a bit hungry after our entrees.
We decided to indulge in dessert, and the tiramisu was a standout—moist, delicious, and well worth it. The total bill for two people, including two sodas, two entrees, and two desserts, came to around $100, which is on the pricier side.
The main question is does the quality match the price? I completely believe it does. No, it’s not an everyday place to go if you’re one of the “poors” but it would be a nice little treat for when you win on a scratch-off.
The food was obviously fresh and made in house. Not sure who the chef is but if he’s white, he sure has gotten some lessons cause the food was flavorful af.
Service was great. We had a lady named Marisa who was always quick to attend to our needs. Full disclosure….I require a TON of refills. She was always quick.
I’ll be going back
I ordered the Chicken Picatta entree, and was perplexed by what I received. It was a bed of nicely prepared pasta (lemony garlic butter sauce with capers and artichokes) BUT topped with a battered and deep fried, smallish chicken breast. The centerpiece of proper chicken picatta is a chicken cutlet, flour-dredged and pan fried. Overall, it tasted fine, but wasn’t authentic Italian. Maybe it was the Southern fried version?
My spouse ordered the salmon, which was well prepared, along with the mac-and-cheese (very good).
We decided to get dessert, so I ordered tiramisu and coffee. We were informed that they do not serve coffee. What? An Italian restaurant with no coffee? Again, we were perplexed. So we asked for the tiramisu to be boxed To Go, (so we could have it with coffee at home), though I took a bite while we waited for our check. It was not at all what other reviewers have raved about. It was quite dense with an almost rubbery top layer, not light and fluffy as it should have been. The flavor wasn’t bad, but the texture was so off-putting that I ate just a few bites at home.
So at this price point, our mixed experience has earned an overall 3-star rating.
