Several years later, Sergio relocated to Vienna, where he immediately opened Ristorante Bonaroti. I have been coming with my family for over 12 years. It is a must stop every time I am in Virginia. Sergio and his team are professionals in their craft. And for how incredibly busy it gets, the food comes out phenomenal.

Pro:
– menu
– wine list
– service
– freshness
– family friendly
– clean and professional

Con:
– serio maximizes his floor space, so when it gets packed it gets loud and crowded because everyone is having a great time. It can be a turn off for some people, but it is 100% worth the visit! My best memories with my family are at Bonaroti!

Tucked away in the heart of Vienna, Ristorante Bonaroti delivers an authentic Italian escape that’s pure perfection. From the moment we stepped in, the customer service shone—warm greetings, seamless seating, and attentive without hovering.

The food? Outstanding. We started with fresh bruschetta bursting with ripe tomatoes and basil, then dove into house-made tagliatelle with wild boar ragù—rich, flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth heaven. The osso buco was tender perfection, paired with a velvety Barolo that elevated every bite. Portions generous, presentation impeccable.

Dessert stole the show: creamy tiramisu and panna cotta that transported us to Tuscany. The staff’s professionalism was flawless—knowledgeable sommelier recommendations, polished service, and genuine smiles all night.

Prices fair for the quality; ambiance romantic yet lively. We’ll be back soon. Buon appetito!

We had an amazing Valentine’s Day dinner! The service and food were both excellent. They even gave my daughter and me a rose, which was such a thoughtful touch. If you love authentic Italian food, this place is a must-visit!

The food was delicious. It was a Saturday night and snow/ice had kept everyone captive for a week. Bonaroti’s was packed. We were lucky to have a reservation and we were seated just a few minutes after our arrival. The mood in the place was jovial, warm and welcoming. We were happy to be out with friends.

The waiter shared a long list of specials and it was hard to decide what to order because everything sounded like it would be delicious. I don’t think you could go wrong. It was so busy that I think it was the owner or maitre d’ who took our orders. I asked which of two specials to order and he helped me choose the mushroom ravioli with a mushroom cream sauce (melt in your mouth). We had zucchini flower appetizers and a caprese salad. Friends enjoyed the manicotti and the halibut special. We were celebrating a birthday (I let the waiter know). The restaurant provided a “happy birthday” plate with tiramisu and the whole room joined us in singing.

Great place to celebrate family milestones

Wow—Ristorante Bonaroti is hands-down one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to in the DC area! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted like family. The warm lighting, classic décor, and cozy tables make it feel timeless—like you’ve stepped into a traditional Roman trattoria.

We started with the beef carpaccio and octopus appetizer, which were both perfectly seasoned and plated beautifully. For mains, I had the veal osso buco and my partner got the veal marsala—both cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The seafood pasta specials looked incredible too, and I can’t wait to try them next time. The bread basket alone is worth the visit—soft, airy, with just the right crunch, and served with olive oil, balsamic, and butter.

The service is top-notch. The owner, Sergio, makes the rounds to check on guests, and the staff are attentive, kind, and professional without ever feeling pushy. It really makes the experience feel personal.
If you’re a traveler or just don’t want to dine in, Bonaroti is also available via Pressure Deliveries, which is perfect for enjoying their classic Italian dishes from your hotel or home.

Overall, this is the kind of restaurant that reminds you why Italian cuisine is so special. Incredible food, warm atmosphere, and impeccable service—I’ll be back again soon!

Circa 1980s Italian. Special, $32, came with 2 shrimp, 4 thin scallops, and 20 pieces of calamari. Subpar quality. Much better food, atmosphere within 5 miles elsewhere. Place has been here forever. Maybe that’s your jam.

Ristorante Bonaroti is a solid spot for Italian cuisine with a cozy, classic vibe. The pasta and sauces are flavorful and feel thoughtfully prepared, though some dishes were a little hit-or-miss. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the meal enjoyable overall. It’s a dependable place for a satisfying Italian dinner, and I’d come back to try more of the menu.

We came here for a business dinner, and it was a delightful experience. The owner, Sergio, was very welcoming and ensured we were well cared for. Our server was attentive and checked on us every 15 minutes. The food was served to perfection—I ordered a filet and had the pistachio cake. I recommend this restaurant, as it is very suitable for a date, birthday, or anniversary.
