What an amazing place! I had a breakfast burrito w/ fries and they gave me this homemade Sriracha mayo that was fantastic. I’m super picky with food and very harsh at times but this place just made my day. Also, they don’t take tips but if you would like they do a “pay it forward” and donate what you give to local charity’s! Favorite place now food and soul. Wish it was closer to my house!

I was hesitant to go into a religious cafe as I’m not a religious person myself, but this experience changed that! I walked in and the atmosphere was similar to that of a library or classic coffee shop with wood bars, stools and beams, and while there was a clear church theme it wasn’t overwhelming. Service was great, our waitress was very friendly and checked on us frequently despite having to also serve a large party in the back. The food was AMAZING. My friend got a burger and said it was one of the best she’d ever had! I got a bologna sandwich, subbed American cheese for cheddar, and added an egg and lettuce. It was amazing, very nostalgic for me. Bologna was well seared, egg was runny and whites were solid just how I like it! The lettuce was crisp, whole leaves that were noticeably fresh, and the bread it was on was sooo good and crispy but not too hard! I’ll definitely be back, the price is very affordable and you get plenty of food! Also their fries are homemade and very good 🙂 side note, their sweet tea was freshly brewed and tasted of honey to me despite them just using sugar! As a southern gal, I was thoroughly impressed with it.

Today on a whim, I decided I would visit this cafe with my almost 2 year old son while waiting for our Wal-Mart pick up order. I’ve followed this place on Facebook since it opened but never made the time to go. I’m so glad I did today!
When I first pulled up there was someone standing at the entrance smoking. So I did another circle around the block and almost went to a different cafe in town and couldn’t find parking so I circled back to Risen cafe.
Now that the smoking individual was gone, my son and I parked out back and walked to the side entrance. We were greeted with a smile from who I found out to be a girl named Sara. She was super sweet and brought us a high chair and rearranged the table so the stuff was out of my son’s reach.
I love the atmosphere. People gathering and happily chatting. Every day people. The two girls up front, Sara and another blonde hair girl were smiling and friendly with each other and not gossiping. I love that the table had a prayer request paper we could write requests on. I also love that the story of the cafe was on the menu. The prices were affordable and the food was so delicious like I was eating a home made meal. The eggs weren’t those restaurant kind of eggs but tasted home made. The home made sour dough bread was so good too! And I loved my ice coffee even though it was a little pricey at $6.
I especially appreciated they mentioned no need to tip but instead donate to the ministry. And there was a little jar at the table to donate to the employees. But no pressure at all. And at the back of the store was a little display of the meals bought for others.
I can’t wait to be back and bring many other friends. I usually don’t take my toddler but they treated him kindly and he was well behaved !

I’ve had a meal here several times and attended their Sunday morning church service. The people are very kind and welcoming. The food is delicious and unique this is a great little cafe. They also have a ministry where if you need a meal but can’t afford to pay some people have been gracious enough to donate them so if you are in need of food they care and want to help.

My coworkers and I were in Albion for training and decided to find a place to have lunch since none of us knew anything about the eateries in Albion. We found the Risen Café and decided to try it out. You wouldn’t know it from looking at the place, but it was absolutely fantastic! They have the best fried german bologna sandwich I have ever had, and I have been all over the world. Their cook John sautéed the onion perfectly and though it’s American cheese it just compliments the sandwich well. My supervisor stated that her chicken salad sandwich is one of the best she has ever eaten. Their fries are great. The staff is friendly and inviting. I would highly recommend and encourage you to try. Not only is their food outstanding and staff friendly. The Risen Café gives back to the community and those in need. They don’t accept tips for the staff, but will inform you that you can donate to the church or place towards purchasing a meal for a person in need. We found this café by fate! Enjoy your delicious meal, and have a blessed day!
Thank you, Risen Café for the great service and food!

I have been in Risen Cafe a couple of times. The service was great; the
food was wonderful. It’s a very quiet place where you can talk to someone without yelling across the table. I would recommend Risen Cafe to all who comes to visit Albion.
