Was looking for a place to grab a quick breakfast and found rise and shine. Being from the south I’m a biscuit girl, not a breakfast burrito girl and was excited to find this spot. The biscuit of the day was jalapeño cheddar and I had it with chicken. It was very good. I look forward to returning. It does take a couple minutes to get your biscuit so it’s definitely not a quick in and out place.

This locations has been a go to spot for a quick breakfast sandwich for my family since it had opened @ the Garrison locations, visiting roughly 50-75 times. The breakfast and biscuits are good, we loved to support a small business and rise and shine was close to our home… all a big plus. Over the last year or so the staff has screwed up orders about 50% of the time, we always have to check a simple order to make sure it was done correctly. Just to be clear, the order is written in marker on the bag, it’s simple yet rise and shine still continues to fail. We have made numerous complaints in the past to their service line, refunds and remedies have been made which is great, however a customer should not need to do the job of checking if orders are correct during every visit, that is the job of kitchen or counter staff. The last week we went in to order, notifying the women taking orders that our recent order had been incorrect, explaining politely I might add. She could had to leave the counter due to a panic attack over to a simple everyday question and another employee needed to complete the order. If the staff cannot manage a mild mannered concern with a previous order then they are clearly not employable. With that said I will no longer be a customer at any rise and shine again, I will not support mediocre customer service and would suggest anyone making a purchase at this locations should inspect EVERY order made. hopefully this reaches a manger, since we could not speak with one on our last visit.

I have eaten here many times and the biscuits have never failed to be the best every time! This place has my favorite breakfast sandwiches and all the employees I’ve interacted with are always so nice. I definitely recommend trying their biscuits of the day and the Hatteras is SO YUMMY. I recommend this to all my friends and have already brought some of them with me.

Oh my goodness, this place was an absolute gem for a southern breakfast biscuits! The biscuits were the real deal – crispy, light, and bursting with flavor. My wife had biscuits with egg and cheese, and I had one with country ham. The egg and cheese were absolutely delicious, with a generous serving of both. And the country ham biscuit was so good that I couldn’t resist taking a picture of it before I could even finish it! My only gripe was that the ham serving was a bit small, but when it comes to country ham, all possible servings are too small for me. The atmosphere was super relaxed and laid-back, with plenty of open space. The staff were friendly and the service was lightning-fast. I highly recommend ordering two biscuits for your meal – they’re not small, but they’re real biscuits, not oversized versions. If you’re from the south, this is what you’ve been missing here in Denver. And if you’re not, you can still get a taste of the south with all the bugs and humidity. Trust me, it’s worth it!

Awesome biscuits and flavor, especially loved the Friday biscuit special (beer-battered). Everything is made to order. The location has unique architecture and it’s open and welcoming inside. Moderate amount of seating options so we had no issue finding a table on a Friday morning (though they did say the weekends can be crowded). Pleasant staff and overall wonderful experience. Will be back!

Great ham, egg & cheese sandwich on a very good biscuit. Could use another slice of ham but all-in-all a great breakfast sandwich. Biscuit was not dry or crumbly; rather moist and buttery. Iced latte was really outstanding! Service was very friendly and quick. Sandwich specials look awesome (but sadly I was looking only at breakfast) Connect to their WiFi as service is otherwise spotty here. Atmosphere is a little small-“s” spartan (no CGI-enhanced buff Greeks shoving Persian envoys into scary deep pits) but made up for it with a great playlist of tunes, capped off by The Heptones’ “Book of Rules.” Nice, down to earth folks here. Well done, all.

I have been wanting to stop here for a while – I mean who doesn’t want to try biscuits and gravy? Rise and shine is basically located in a strip mall at an intersection on Garrison and 6th Avenue in Lakewood Colorado. This is cute, albeit small cafe. It is a little cold feeling because of the large windows with all views of the street and the location at the intersection. I think if the owners had selected their physical selection of a business in a cozy area with perhaps trees and flowers. In other words – curb appeal – it would have made a huge difference.
I ordered the coffee of the day – the names are creative. I believe mine was titled “Dangerous” and I cannot remember the second part of the name. However the coffee was just delicious. The coffee was served in a paper cup. I thought that real mugs would really help with the slightly cold feeling. The Rise & Shine Kitchen only offers paper and plastic kitchenware.
Okay, now to the good part- I ordered two biscuits with gravy because it was a slightly cold gray morning and what could be better?
The attendant was cheerful and nice. When she presented my ticket for $12.00, I was a little startled. (You pay before you dine.)
I wouldn’t have minded $12.00 if I had been in a cozy warm restaurant – but paper plates and paper coffee cups just didn’t feel quite right.
I changed my order immediately to one biscuit and coffee for a much more reasonable $7.00.
The biscuit arrived lonely in a plastic tray lined with paper. Maybe it was a paper tray. The gravy was served in a paper ketchup cup. This was disappointing. I started pouring the gravy over the biscuitand then decided to spear a bite with my flimsy fork and dip it into the gravy cup.
The biscuit was tender and flaky and did not disappoint completely. On the other hand, there was some creativity at play in The Rise and Shine kitchen. The gravy had undertones of a lemony or tart addition. I have to say this was completely unexpected and did not add to the expected experience of just warm sausage delicious gravy adorning your biscuit.
I probably will not return, however, if you are in a big rush trying to get to the office, you can stop here and at least make sure that you have warm and delicious coffee in your tummy as you rush from your seat into the parking lot with the giant pole sign and jump into your car and head down 6th Avenue to our beautiful Rocky mountain mountains.

Ate in at the Lakewood location today at 11:45. This was my first time trying Rise & Shine – a friend has been recommending it for awhile! I had the Charlotte and my husband had the Raleigh – they were both really good. The biscuits are SO YUMMY. In my opinion, 1000-times better than Denver Biscuit Co. biscuits. We also got a biscuit of the day to try – it was basil pesto. They have biscuits and gravy on the menu but they don’t have plates there so gravy comes on the side. That’s too bad. There’s only seating around the perimeter of the space so it feels a little cavernous – not really a great “sit and have a gab” spot even though they have a full espresso menu but maybe that’s because it just opened? It’s a small food menu but I think this will be a great spot to come for biscuit sandwiches with the family, etc. Really great biscuits.

Went in on a Friday late morning. The setup here is that you go up and order at the counter. I thought it was more apt down but that’s not the case. There were good options. It’s a very big open space. I feel like the space could be made to be a bit more cozy but it was very clean. There was a beer biscuit of the day. It had a very yeasty beer tast if you like that. I ordered a cold brew with creamer and a egg sausage biscuit sandwich and gravy.
I did specify that it was for here but all orders come in a bag anyway so not aure why they ask. She did give us a small paper plate to eat on. My cold brew was very good. They do not have. Alarge cold brew only a medium. Would have liked a larger size.
The egg biscuit was amazing. The biscuits taste fresh and homemade. I also had a order of gravy which was also amazing. Bit I was still slightly hungry after eating the biscuit Sammy but maybe that’s because I usually eat a larger breakfast.
My order was about $15.
It’s a great place to grab an egg sandwich aND coffee that are quality. It’s a better alternative to Village Roaster down the street which can be crowded and have long wait times.
I’m definitely going here again.
My only suggestion is less single use items like plastic silver ware. For to go orders this is good but for didning in I’d rather not use single use items. Like the bags too.
Also the cashier was extremely patient , friendly, and knowledable.
